Review summary

Taking a cruise to Alaska is great because so many places you can only travel by boat or plane. I think I would go with another line with kids. Our ship had babies to older teens with every other age too but not enough to do. I felt like the only entertainment was the pool and in July it was cold and windy to be swimming in my opinion. Really wanted to have more games and activites.

Embarkation

It was very easy to go aboard with a passport. No issues we were actually surprised how easy it was.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was very bland and we weren't impressed. Best meal of the day was breakfast with simple eggs and bacon.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Nothing much to do. A few trivia games. This ship wants to sell everything to you from their mattresses to jewelry, art auction, spa supplies and the list continues.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our room steward was amazing. We never had to ask for anything. Our waiters at our dinning room were professional but totally lack personality. My daughter spilt a drink and they made such a big deal about cleaning and over cleaning that it was embarrassing.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was very clean and it didn't look tired but would have prefer another theme. Kind of old timing.

Ship tip

Our balcony room was very nice. I couldn't imagine going to Alaska without one. We knew the cabin was going to be small and that part was ok except when it was bedtime. I didn't like the stairs for the upper bed to be in the walking space to go to the bathroom when its dark in the middle of the night. Stubbed some toes. Ouch!

If you are planning to take the light rail to the pier prepare to walk over a 150 steps. Luckily on the way back we saw a sign to go to a parking garage to catch an elevator.
