Great trip and I was able to mark one more cruise off my bucket list. I did feel our previous full transit Panama cruise through the old canal was better simply because the old canal had more history behind it. Other than that it was a great cruise. the

Review summary

Good cruise, but not as good as going through the old canal due to its lack of history.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Embarkment was slow and seemingly disorganized.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Excellent and with a good variety of options to select from.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Far too many production shows and not enough comedians and other types of shows.

Children's Programs

Adults only traveling.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Woody was great in the Botticelli dining room as was Asa as a cleaner in the disembarkment/embarkment area going and coming from shore. She was always helpful and pleasant to talk to.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This is one of my favorite Princess ships. The only negative is the fact it didn't have an Alfredo's Pizza Parler. Every place on the ship was clean and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I like the large balcony, but the shower was a bit smaller than on some other Princess ships.

Ship tip

Enjoy the cruise on one of Princess' smaller ships.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

4 out of 5
No excursions in Ft. Lauderdale. The flooding was bad, but that isn't Princess' fault.

Kralendijk, Bonaire

5 out of 5
We rented a golf cart and cruised around the area. Doing so we saw the same sites that the excursions covered and much more for less dollars. A highlight was seeing wild donkeys, flamingos, the salt operation and the slave structures.

Oranjestad, Aruba

4 out of 5
Just walked around, but a nice clean port.

Cartagena, Colombia

2 out of 5
Didn't leave the immediate dock area due to crime in the area, but the little mini zoo had improved considerably since were last there and provided an excellent opportunity to get off the ship.

Panama Canal Transit

3 out of 5
No excursion only enjoyed the trip from our balcony.

Fuerte Amador, Panama

3 out of 5
Only walked around a bit.

Puntarenas, Costa Rica

3 out of 5
Only walked around a bit.

Huatulco, Mexico

4 out of 5
Only walked around a bit.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
Only walked around a bit.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
Precedence was given to a huge TA group called Travel with Allan and we had to wait about 45-60 outside while that group were loaded onto their buses before we were allowed to board our Princess airport transit bus.

Glad you had a great time. We were on the same cruise with you and we also had Woody and Marcela as our wait staff... and I agree, they were excellent. Cheers!

Appreciate your detailed feedback. Didn’t think about the lack of history regarding the new locks. I’d like to go through them now that we’ve done the original locks twice. Glad you enjoyed your cruise.
