Disney Fantasy overview

Disney Fantasy
Disney Fantasy is the fourth member of the Disney fleet and features franchise favorites Star Wars, Marvel and more.

Disney Fantasy launched in 2012 and is the fourth member of the line's cutting-edge fleet. Fantasy was refurbished in 2017 highlighted by the addition of popular Disney franchises Star Wars and Marvel. New onboard shopping venues were also added. This top-rated ship delivers a picture-perfect family vacation with a healthy dose of Disney magic. Among Cruiseline.com members, Fantasy scores near-perfect marks for its spacious cabins, comprehensive children's programs, attentive staff, and overall ship quality. With multiple play areas and pools plus lots of adults-only spaces, this remarkable cruise ship offers vacationers the best of both worlds.

Play all day in Mickey's Pool and the AquaLab water park. Zoom down the AquaDuck watercoaster, or challenge your friends to a game of minigolf on Goofy's Sports Deck. Fantasy has amenities for older kids too, including a teen lounge and tween spa. Camp counselors even offer tableside childcare pickups, so you can finish your meal and then enjoy a night on the “town.” Hop across international neighborhoods in the Europa nightclub, have a pint at O'Gills Pub, or head to the Meridian bar for a nightcap.

Just like a Disney theme park, Fantasy has a wide variety of dining options ranging from kid-friendly finger food to some of the most sophisticated menus at sea. And no one knows entertainment better than Disney, so it's no surprise that the line produces spellbinding stage shows featuring beloved characters that you won't see on any other cruise line. Disney also hosts a number of exclusive events and experiences. These include Royal Tea with the princess, Pirate Night deck parties, and princess and pirate transformations at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.

Disney Fantasy itineraries and departure ports

Disney Fantasy cruises depart from the Port Canaveral port year-round. The ship has a busy schedule with frequent 3-night getaways to the Bahamas, including Disney's own Castaway Cay. It also operates longer 8- to 11-night Caribbean cruises to Aruba, Barbados, the Virgin Islands, and popular destinations in the region. On select itineraries in 2019, passengers can celebrate Disney's 90th anniversary at Mickey & Minnie's Surprise Party at Sea. The line also offers special themed cruises on and around major holidays.

Before you book

This ship is best for: Fantasy's core market is families traveling with children under 10, but it's also a great choice for multigenerational groups who appreciate excellent service. Plus, its homeport is just an hour from Disney World for a convenient two-in-one vacation.

You should know: If you aren't a Mouseketeer, the character-themed venues and brand-centric entertainment may seem schmaltzy and cloying.

GREAT cruise...take me back! by MopsPops

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Disney Fantasy

This was our 23rd cruise, 21st on Disney. We are cruisers, we love it. We don't always get off at ports because we've cruised so much but we did this time because those cruising with us have never been on a western. If we've been, we like to be on the ship when others are off in the ports. If you are contemplating a cruise, do it! You never know if you like it till you try.

This cruise was amazing but you certainly pay a premium for the Disney experience. If you are a Disney fan it’s well, well worth it. There are so many little touch points and details that, if you enjoy Disney, you will love.

215 Disney Fantasy tips

clewtravel

you have to insert your Key to the World (KTTW) card into the slot / holder at the entryway of the of cabin to activate the lights and power. An easy hack for this is to use an old hotel room key or old gift card for this purpose and leave it there for the length of your cruise.
