The cruise was a 9.5 and I would do it again. Alaska is a magical enchanting place. Princess needs to work on their communication when there is a change in an excursion or a problem. I went to guest services about the luggage issue. They were not help on the boat. The shore excursion staff on the ship were dismissive until I proved that they lumped us in the wrong group. What i learned is that I will need to follow up on anything if it goes wrong.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We had no problem getting onto the ship. We followed Princess steps and had completed all the necessary testing prior to getting to Seattle
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food choices, servers and options were great. I would suggest making speciality dinner reservations before getting on the ship.

Ship tip
Get your reservations in early for speciality dining spots. We never did get into the steak restaurant. Do all your paperwork as soon as possible.
Loved seeing this glacier. However we were unable to take the smaller ship into the glacier site. Due to the icebergs, the Captain was unable to get closer. Sign up quickly if you want to do this
Had a great whale watching experience. The excursion could have been better by including water (not just coffee and cocoa) as part of the deal. The snacks they offered were not enough (donut holes and salmon on a cracker). But the main thing was seeing whales and we did get that experience.
Loved Skagway but had problem with the excursion itself. Princess put us on another one that included gold panning which we did not want to do. The train ride and Red Onion were wonderful. The salmon bake was a huge disappointment. They ran out of food and it just wasn’t that good. After the lunch the groups went to gold panning. another 3 people and Jerry and I were just standing there. Another driver called to Princess excursions and offered to drive the 5 of us into town and then we would meet our group at Red Onion. Our driver had left to go get another excursion. We met our original group at the Red Onion. Got scolded by the driver who said he had to pick up another group and we could walk to the ship. Only 3 blocks he said. Well it was very difficult for my husband to make it to the ship. We did lodge a complaint with Princess and are getting a refund.
It ended up ok. But Princess needs to improve on their communication. We completed the paperwork to send our bags ahead on American. I received notification that my bags were on their way. When we were leaving the ship, I reconfirmed with Princess and discovered my bags were sitting on the dock at customs with everyone else. When we got to the airport, AA thought I had already checked 2 bags. Took extra time on their part as well to clear this up.
