Review summary

All in all a great cruise. I would definitely go on this ship again. Only negative was that the library had not been restocked after the Japanese cruising season but guess they would have done this in Sydney.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Easy embarkation, despite crowds of passengers, check in was by number groups which worked smoothly and quite quickly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was excellent in the main dining rooms, even towards the end of the cruise the standard remained very high. The buffet also had a good variety and staff did their best to supply any requests for anything not on display. We went to Sabatini's Italian Restaurant one night which was fabulous. Beautiful food and wonderful service.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Pools and Spas were good but the spas near the main pool were far too hot. Great spot is on deck 16 right at the back of the ship, lovely spas there. The Izumu Japanese spa was great. Hot spas, sauna, steam room etc. well worth the $15 for 2 hour charge.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Reasonable entertainment in the theatre, some good, others not so good. Singers and dancers were very good. Also really enjoyed a Welsh lady called Lyn Lawrence who was a fantastic pianist and had a great voice. She performed most nights in one of the bars.

Children's Programs

No children with us

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All staff were great, very polite and friendly and very attentive

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very clean ship and easy to get around

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was kept very clean, clean towels twice a day if we liked and robes supplied. Balcony was quite big. Very happy with cabin, even though it was near front of ship, very little movement was felt

Ship tip

Just enjoy!!

Interesting about the library. I assumed the library books were ones left by past guests. It may take a few cruises to build it back up.
