We did not take any of the ship,s excursions. But, read up and watched stateroom TV to see what plans to make and places to see, ahead of time. We were very satisfied with choices we made. Took lots of photo's, see our Facebook page for a few.

Glacier Bay was an extraordinary adventure as was all ports on this cruise, but using a balcony for viewing was hindered by the fact everyone on our side of the ship had a bird's eye view of our balcony and everyone using it. Made use of the balcony uncomfortable.

Definitely get the balcony room if you can, it was the perfect way to enjoy the cruise with so much to see. The scenery in Alaska is beautiful! Do bring warm clothing since the temperatures hover in the 50-60's during the day and it can be quite foggy!

We enjoyed breakfast in our room for most of the cruise to avoid the crowded breakfast buffet lines. We found the dinner buffet wonderful and not very crowded.

if looking for the formal dining wait until after 8pm. by then the crowds are gone, you'll get better service from the staff, plus....they'll bring you extra dishes that you enjoy as the food is prepared and must be consumed that night.

Cruising Glacier Alley was great, also seeing Amalia Glacier. We had calm waters around Cape Horn, but blustery weather going from Straits of Magellan to the Pacific Ocean.

If you live near a port or have family or friends near the port, call Princess and see if they are offering the Bon Voyage Experience. Guests can board with you as soon as the ship is cleared. They spend up to 3 hours with you and can have lunch. There is a nominal fee but worth it.
