Loved the Crown Princess by HollaceG

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We had a very enjoyable cruise. The high quality of service and general ambiance of the ship exceeds most others. Lounge entertainment was very good. Loved the warm cookies and millk passed in the lobby during the afternoon jazz concert. Nice touch. Sushi/wine bar was outstanding. Wonderful place to go before dinner. Crooners was the happening spot after dinner.

A Wonderful Cruise by VinhV

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

My wife and I went on our first cruise to the Southern Caribbean with Crown Princess. It was fantastic! I was really impressed. The ship was very new and beautiful. It was huge and had everything that we needed: a nice gym, swimming pools, saunas, etc. The room service was excellent--the room was made like four times a day. Food was good, like gourmet. Entertainment was very good; there were interesting and funny shows almost every night. The ports of call were all very interesting: Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Thomas, Antigua, and Tortola.

Adequate Cruise......................... by JohnD53

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

20% plus of the folks on the cruise were staying for a second week, we said no way. It wasn't really because of the ship it was more of the false pretenses that are put on. Several years ago we boarded a princess cruise that had the wave pool near the front of the ship, it now costs $10pp per day to enjoy this. We made reservations at Sabatinis and the steak house both an additional $20 and $25 pp extra. The first night we made our way to a main dining room, although a major complaint getting to this room without going outside in the harsh wind was that you had to go down several decks, up one, walk down past rooms, go back up and then find the restaurant. Too much up and down. I had Toronados of steak that you could see through, the next night I chose the NY Steak, unbelievable amount of sodium in the sauce on the steak, where their chefs overseeing the tastes of this? I suppose people look at this and go "ooh and ahh" because these are the same folks who have to pay for dessert and appetizers at a restaurant. Sabettinis was a let down, adequate service, food was no better and maybe even less than the main dining room. We had noticed that there was never anyone in the steak house for the extra $25 pp, after Sabettinis we canceled the steak house. Aahhh but when the restaurants are open for the dinner, the small buffet at the back of the ship was open we discovered. Whats this, fried shrimp, shrimp cocktail, crab legs, beef wellington!. After the pool we grabed a plate of shrimp went back to the room, snacked changed and went back to the buffet. I asked, and got a 3" thick piece of Wellington, shrimp, sides, man this was better than the main dining! Even the day we left the ship we ate at the main dining area, couldn't bite the muffins they were so hard, coffee non existant, get off the ship please! Years ago the "foreigners" working the ship, you know, the Romanians, Slavs, were more attentive, this time it felt like we were bothering them. Superbowl under the stars was ok, no fanfair at all for the game, cold hotdogs that I took 2 bites out of fearing sickness and when explaining this to the young foreign attendant that the food was cold, she had no clue!!!! On NCL last year in Hawaii for superbowl, they did it up big with Horsd'oeurves, necklaces and much more. Movies under the stars was great except for having to sit in deck chairs that are like rocks. Being in the catering business the customer and quality of the food comes first, these folks just get buy with the staff. The only English speaking folks were the pursers and some officers who you only saw at the beginning and end of the voyage.

"EXCEPTIONAL" by BillS17

Sail date: /
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This is the third Princess we have sailed on. This ship is the greatest. From the boarding to the debarking the crew was very helpful to our entire needs. One has to mention the cleaniness of the ship. No matter where you are, from our cabin to the public rooms, this ship is spotless and impeccable. The professinal mannerisms of the cruise director and his staff to our cabin steward. This ship and it's crew are there to serve you. Dinning is an experience aboard the Crown Princess. We chose personal dining which allowed us to dine anytime we wanted, in two well appointed dining rooms. We also had the opportunity to share a table with others and during the course of our 7 day cruise we met approximately 30 other people while dining. We also experienced the Crown Steak House which is not to missed when cruising the Crown Princess. The extra special service and attention given to us during that very romantic dinner. One only has to take a virtual peek at this ship to understand its majesty. From the public rooms that feature the best entertainment to the dining rooms and the Piazza which has the very best coffee aboard and an assortment of international delicasies to die for. I could go on and on but the best way to experience The Crown, is arrange a booking ASAP.

A SHIP CAN BE JUST TOO BIG by AS8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This is a big ship: nineteen decks, 952 feet long, and 3100 passengers. Be prepared to walk a lot, wait a lot, and don't look for those 'little' touches that you may have become accustomed to on smaller ships.Embarkation was a disaster, with long waiting lines in a light rain, and no explanation offered as to the delay...no chairs, no refresments , nothing.

So awesome! by DeniseS6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The ship is gorgeous! We loved the option of any-time dining and meeting all the different people. We also loved dining by ourselves. The wait staff and everyone in the dining areas were so helpful and friendly and made all of our meals so great! We had fun at each port. It was a fantastic itinerary! We loved our ship shopping expert, Freddie! She knew all the best places to shop and even showed up at the jewelry store on St. Thomas when I purchased a stunning pair of earrings that she also owned! What a great week! We look forward to cruising again and often with Princess!

Average cruise, ports nice but food awfu by Kristen

Sail date: /
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Food needs major improvement. Entertainment at night caters to an older crowd. This is definitely not a cruise for a younger crowd. Not much to do at night besides the casino b/c the shows are lame. All in all I would not recommend to someone younger than 50. Worst part - the food. Very disappointed.

NICE CRUISE by MillieF

Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Cruised Nov. 2007. Embarkation was very fast and disembarkation had to wait to long but was well organized. Very much impressed by ship's size. Beautiful ship hard to get around but fun doing so. Movies under the stars is great. Food was average more of the same. Ports of call were fine. Enjoyed our vacations.

Great Itinerary and Ship by JeanetteN

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The ship is very classy, not too gaudy or glitzy. There are plenty of outside pools and ample deck chairs. We never had to search long for a set next to eachother, even during the day at sea. All of the dining rooms were very nice and clean. We chose the Anytime Dining option and as long as you don't mind sharing a table with other couples, this is a great option. We absolutely loved the freedom of being able to plan our meals around what we wanted to do that night, not the other way around. The pizza and grills poolside are good for a quick mid-day meal to take back to your room or while you're at the pool. There were ample work-out facilities (I went in the morning, and it wasn't crowded) and the equipment was in good shape.

Better than I could have imagined! by DerrickB

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This vacation from start to finish was phenominal. Myself and my wife from the beginning were treated like royalty. I think that our biggest worry might have been my wife's motion sickness but, this ship was so smooth that you barely knew that you were on water. My wife's favorite feature was the movies under the stars! Overall I would be hard pressed to pick one thing as my favorite because everything was excellent from the shows to the servants. The food in the restaurant was absolutely indescibable my full compliments would have to go out to the chef. This cruise was an experience of a lifetime and before it was over me and my wife were already planning our cruise for 2009 with our boys ages 9 and 11. I have already and will continue to stress to my friends and family that they not only take a cruise but, that they take that cruise with PRINCESS!

Pros and Cons by JulieL3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

The Crown Princess is beautiful however compared to the same class of ship with Holland America or Royal Caribbean it seemed more difficult to find your way around. We were constantly going in the wrong direction. We were required to have our bags packed and outside the cabin at 6 pm on the last night of the cruise instead of the usual midnight requirement. Many things seemed to be scheduled for the convenience of the cruise line instead of the passengers. We were told by the 800 number before we left that we could book a New York tour on board for the day we returned. When we got onboard we were told Princess couldn't be bothered with a New York tour since they had to unload and load 3,000+ passengers. We had scheduled a late flight anticipating going on a NY tour and requested assistance with storing our luggage in NY until our flight left. After waiting 3 days for a response to our request, they refused to assist us.

A Wonderful Experience by DianaC75377802

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

Our cruise to Canada/New England was wonderful. The ship was beautiful. The crew couldn't have been more courteous and helpful. We especially loved our cabin man. He was extremely efficient and pleasant. The food, both in the dining rooms and buffets was the best of any ship we've been on.

disappointment by Al69361347

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

this was our 2nd try with Princess, our 15th cruise - thank goodness we were traveling with good friends and just enjoyed being with them which salvaged our trip - the crew acted like they could not speak to the passengers, we like to get to know the crew and cut up with them but that was not possible on this ship - the service was below standard here - the food was only good at the grill at the pool but who can eat all their meals there - the daily activities were standard however the night activities were scheduled during the late dining hours which we missed them all (with 3200 passengers alot of people have to eat at 8:30) - the Art Auction was pretty good we went each time - beware of the "free" art they give away, it cost you 20.00 to ship you can't walk it off the ship like other cruise lines - be careful of extra costs throughout the ship most things do cost extra like ice cream, sofa drinks, juice, specialty coffees, some desserts, etc - the only free all the time drinks are water, tea and coffee no lemonade or fruit punch this time - the cabin were almost a dream with the safe, refrig and lots of storage, very well origianized and comfy bed - the ports were OK the problem with them was the fact that the shhip ported away from the city and you had to pay money to taxi to begin sightseeing if you don't take an excurision (least was 4.00 and most was 12.00 per person one way) - the biggest problem with this cruise was the scheduling and crew - the overall cruise was below the standard of NCL and Royal that we are use to and it also cost more - Princess will not be visited by us again - Good Luck if you do

A great time! by Nancyr1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Overall impressions of this ship were very positive. This is my sixth cruise, first time with princess, and I was very pleased. For a ship with so many people, you really did not have to wait for anything. There were enough buffet lines, so there was never a line to speak of, enough lounges at the pool, so there was always somewhere to go, and enough staff to always make sure that there was assistance if you needed it. I was very impressed!
