Princess is clearly short on cash. This ship is running on only one of two engines and Princess doesn't plan to fix it this season. The result is abbreviated itineraries, routing that takes you out to sea rather than through the inside passage, and shortened port visits. The value is significantly reduced. Also, there are visible signs of Princess being cash strapped right now: laundry facilities are out of order and not being fixed, for example. Consider choosing another ship for your trip to Alaska in 2022 and maybe even another cruise line.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Smooth, fast, no problems
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Princess food is always good. Main dining room selections were excellent. Specialty restaurants even better and worth the premium at least once each.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
This cruise has far more time at sea than the brochure would seem. You'll on the boat for 4-5 days so onboard amenities and activities are more important than on most cruises. Princess offerings felt a bit bland.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Children's Programs
Didn't bring any children
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Service and staff were excellent. Crew is anxious to please and bends over backwards at every opportunity.

Decent stateroom, nothing special. Clean and comfortable.
Ship tip
Talk to the Maitre'd at Da Vinci and you can reserve a specific table for any night, any time.
Skagway itself is small and can be seen quickly. Take the train to White Pass or try renting a car and driving over the White Pass into Canada. Hikes around Skagway are great, too.
Depends a lot on weather. Glaciers are amazing and impressive. Mountain peaks are impressive. Whales, sea otters, harbor seals, and sea lions are all here if you watch for them. Once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Princess should’ve canceled the cruises for this ship until it is repaired. Providing a poor experience is worse than canceling and giving passengers the option to take another ship.
