Review summary

We really enjoyed the cruise and Costa. We spent less onboard than ever before as well. Staff and service was excellent. Food was very good. Cabin was quiet and comfortable. Entertainment was the only area that was a little lacking. Just not a whole lot that peaked my interest.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very smooth with no lines. Only inconvenient thing was that you cannot add a credit card to the account until onboard, but this was easy to do at the many kiosks.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food overall was very good. It has a European style which we really like. MDR was great for dinner and lunch. There was a varied menu, and I could always find things I wanted to try. The seafood was nearly always delicious. For some reason, the service was not good at breakfast. Buffet was good for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. We never went in the evening. The food always looked and tasted good. It was always served hot and fresh. There were shorter lines than I've ever experienced on a cruise. Occasionally there would be a line at one station, but the next station would be totally free. A couple of times, there was a line if they ran out of something.

Bar

5 out of 5

Great bars overall. Very friendly and efficient service. My son loved the chocolate bar. They knew him by name and saved him his favorite drink if it started to run low.

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin felt very spacious. It was always clean. We had side by side balconies, and the cabin steward opened the door between balconies daily for us.

Ship tip

Even numbered cabins had better views in the Caribbean.

I am so happy for you!

Glad you enjoyed it. Many give Costa and MSC negative reviews because they are not the same as most mainstream lines that sail from the US. As long as you do research and understand what you are getting, these cruises can be a great value and very enjoyable.
