Costa is European and makes it a different experience with accents and the “European way” sometimes meaning that annoying the guests is par for the course. We laughed it off and it was fun. We danced a lot. Not a lot of free games and activities. Pool and hot tubs close at 8 pm.

Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The buffet had fewer options than I expected. No food after 8:30 pm. The buffet isn’t circular at all so the lines back up more than is necessary. The first day I loved the Italian choices but the home made Mac n cheese didn’t appear for lunch ever again. The restaurant was well staffed and had better choices than the buffet. We don’t do drinks so I have no information on the bars.
Onboard Activities

We paid for ping pong and fusbol (around $1) there aren’t really many activities. Just a basketball or volleyball court and a little mini golf (very little)
Entertainment
4 out of 5
It was fun even if it was because we were laughing at cheesy random stuff and the fun accents. This isn’t the best cruise ship for active families. We played a competition poolside with shuffle board stuff and won a prize but they never pulled it out again. Great shows with tricks, singers and dancers.
Children's Programs
The kids (Age 10 and 12) weren’t interested enough to go. Seemed to be better for the young kids though.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
My only complaint is staff not really knowing answers to questions like hours for the buffet. Seems like management and communication from the top could improve. Nice staff!
We walked ALL THE WAY outside the gate to the port and got a taxi to the 27 waterfalls (it’s a government run park) and then paid entrance without any lunch for 12 waterfalls tour. That was $13 per person. Great guides. Totally awesome jumps and slides. Depending on drought how many actual falls, but 9 was enough.
Glad you enjoyed it. I see negative reviews about Costa and MSC from many Americans not understanding the difference on the European run lines. As long as you understand the differences upfront, these cruises can be a great value, since they tend to be less expensive than the main stream lines.
