On the Coral and Island Princesses there are 2 "secret" viewing areas that are superb. They're at the bow on Decks 10 and 11 ( http://tinyurl.com/89xu386 ). Go through the door that says "No Entry" or some such thing. It's actually okay to do - both of the spots are in full view of the bridge.
Make sure you get the wrapped sandwiches from the cafeteria the night before an extended excursion. Our tour to Panama City was 6 hours and we were given a bottle of water and a muffin the whole time. We were not anywhere long enough to go to a restaurant to eat.
Watch the morning show every morning to hear about the daily activities on and off the ship. The cruise directors were hilarious...we would watch it twice enjoying our morning coffee!
if you leave a meal hungry, its your own fault. great Fruit bowl available for all meals on the Horizon court. Main Dining rooms also are available for lunches and dinners.
If given the opportunity in anytime dining, make a reservation for your preferred time. You can either dine by yourselves (or with the party you came with) or opt to be seated with others whom you don't know. Early in the cruise, we had no problem being seated without a reservation but later did.
Take advantage of the 2 different Bogo times for drinks. We would order 4 and get them to only open 2 and bring the extras to our rooms for the next day. Saved alot of money that way.
Guys be sure to have long sleeves if you want to go into the dining room on formal night. Long sleeve shirt is ok.
