The Celebrity Summit is a relatively small ship, only about 2000 passengers, which is just fine with us. Sailing out of Port Liberty on Sunday around 4PM we were about 4-5 hours southeast when a medical emergency forced us to go back to a staging area that turned out to be just south of Coney Island. Ship did not get underway for at least and hour or more, then we finally continued southerly to Bermuda. A second medical emergency then came after we were beyond turning back, but Captain Alex put the ship full speed ahead to get to Bermuda on Tuesday at 5PM, certainly ahead of our Wednesday scheduled docking time. Felt sorry for many of the folks who were first time cruisers, as the ship really bounded through the waves due to its speed, not, as some thought, stormy seas.

This seemed more geared for a more mature guest population. There weren't as many activities geared towards younger, more fit guests.

Choose this itinerary if you want an all encompassing cruise experience. The balance/spacing between port and sea days made for an almost absolute enjoyment of ports/tours and shipboard activities in relaxed manner.Nothing overwhelmed.

If you choose the Select Dining option, call for reservations the day before and if you have found a waiter that you like you could add that to your reservation and if possible they make it happen. It worked for us on 7 of the 8 days we had dinner in the Main Dining Room.

Drink Package: There is drink station on the ship and 24 hours available for free drink, filter water, coffee/tea, lemonade, iced tea and tropical punch. We purchased premium non-alcohol drink package but we always use the drink station for coffee/tea/water. Because bottled water and premium coffee/tea are served by the restaurant/café, especially premium coffee is served only at dining and coffee place.

Do not attempt to bring a power strip - it will be taken from you and returned at the end of your cruise. There are no soda fountains - you get sodas from the bars/staff using your key card.

Bring an extra surge protector & outlet. Also, I didn't like the fact the cabin doors could be opened by cabin stewards even when locked form the inside.(we had a couple of potentially embarrassing moments when after a quick knock, the steward attempted to open the door before waiting for an answer to his knock!)
