Just meh, I didn’t feel like a celebrity. by BarbieP4L

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Summit

Cruise review Rm 2105 Pros Our Choices Small ship, not too crowded Lots of pools and hot tubs Classic drink pkg included has all we need Shower was narrow Celebrity Choices Comedian was funny Sushi on 5 was yummy Most Buffet food was decent day 1, LOTS of GF options. Some tasty some Meh. Bag drop off at room upon boarding Good service at casino bar and coffee shop on 5 MDR food was decent Key west was a nice stop. Pizza tasted good. Qsine was great. Rendezvous and sky lounge nice. Boarding was very easy. Cons Our Choices Ship noises all night Room directly above gangway - didn’t know Celebrity Choices Older ship run down and dirty. Surprising since 2019 refurb. Significant Rust on exterior at windows and bottom Room ready announcement never made Bed not made Previous guests trash still in cabin at 6pm Had to ask for mattress cover for king bed No mattress pad available - not sure he understood the request Mattresses would not stay together. Deserts at coffee shop on 5 not good. No drink service at gaming tables only at slots Pizza was almost always a 15 min wait on and off peak times. Chefs table was meh. Not the expected level for the price. Had to pay extra for the wine. Bimini was not a great stop. Not sure if it was us or the location but we only found fisherman’s village. Not mad at them for weather issues but we didn’t find a “town” to see. Signage and explaining was very poor on this ship and cruise line compared to others. Couldn’t get MDR seating reservations except for 9pm on last night. Didn’t know with My time dining you needed to reserve table at MDR but did find that on the last night you can walk up and wait. Solarium adult only area not even adult only. Family swim 5-7pm and didn’t enforce other times. (I mean at least keep the unsupervised kids out please.) Hot tub water needed shocked real bad- cloudy by second day and stayed that way in all hot tubs. Pools were fine. Extra pillow in cabin was moldy and stained Geneva and Ainee at casino bar 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Pabilito at coffee bar 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Disappointed quality of service by Cruiseview

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Summit

We expected a higher quality of service than Royal Caribbean but this cruise fell short. They didn’t have the attitude to go beyond to make you happy. Whiskey/Bourbon was out at Sky lounge instead of getting it from another bar they said we will restock tomorrow. How do you run out on Day1. The shoulder shrugging and oh well attitude was not pleasing at movie events, Garden Spa area, couldn’t get 1 additional water bottle for meds by room attendant though we have drink package and we suffered from dehydration.

Good Cruise, Full Ship by HonestReviewer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Summit

We expected a large amount of families with children on this cruise and we weren't disappointed. If you don't want to be around children while cruising then don't book a cruise on this ship when kids aren't in school. We enjoyed the Summit but we won't be booking another cruise on this ship during holidays or peak cruise season because of the way the passenger traffic flows.

If You Like 8 Foot Seas and Cold Weather In The Caribbean by refadworm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Summit

I have been Cruising since 1997. Since my first Cruise on the RCCL Monarch of the Seas, Celebrity (owned by RCCL) has been portrayed as the ultimate in Luxury Cruising for Service and Experience. My experience for this cruise is that it isn't much different than any other Cruise Line I have been on.

Great cruise, great service by renob420247

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Summit

Ship was a little rocky 1st few days due to bad weather. Casino was smaller than I would like. Bars are short staffed during events. Everything else was great and items above addressed above very little problems.

Not Your Typical Celebrity Cruise by Oceanbreezer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Summit

We had fun on this cruise. I just didn’t feel like I was on a Celebrity cruise. I kept forgetting I wasn’t on a Royal. The vibe on the ship was more in line with the Royal Caribbean cruises we’ve taken, not the Celebrity cruises we’ve taken. Loved the main dining room, but we disliked the Oceanview Buffet. The American fare on this ship was almost non-existent.

My great first cruise experience by nmiroshnychenko

This was my first cruise and I couldn’t be more impressed. Even though, it was raining and we couldn’t visit Biminy, the days at sea were very pleasant and relaxing. Celebrity Cruises will be my top choice in the future

Galley Tour by CrusinFoodie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Summit

Cindy and I were in severe need of a little distraction from real life and at the last minute, we jumped on to a cruise ship for a 5 day Carribbean Cruise. Me being me, the criteria for choosing a cruise line was the FOOD. I did some internet research and also spoke with longtime family friends who do lots of cruising and a result we booked with Celebrity Cruise Lines, reasonably priced and known for a better than average food standard in the cruise industry. We were not disappointed! Whether we ate at Blū, the upscale restaurant included with our cabin catagory, Cosmopolitan, the main dining room, Ocean View Cafe’s impressive buffet or even the poolside Burger & Hot Dog bar, all of the food was very good, often unique and creative, and always well presented. You can’t go hungry on a Celebrity Cruise! Cruise lines usually offer group tours of the ship but I’m not a group tour kind of guy. However, I really wanted to get some insight for CCB so I stopped by Guest Services and explained that I’m a Foodie with a Foodie Facebook page and would love to get a quick peek at the Galley and maybe a picture with a Chef. I was asked to wait there and within 2 minutes I was introduced to Celebrity Summit’s Executive Chef, Shyam Kumar Jeetun. My timing had been perfect and Chef Jeetun quite graciously took me an extensive and truly informative tour of the most impressive Galley I’ve ever seen. It was like a sea of Stainless Steel with the giant versions of all my cooking equipment, and lots of it. 2 giant mirror imaged galleys for the main dining plus special galleys for each of the several speciality restaurants. This place operates with military precision on a 24/7 basis thanks to 140 onboard Chef’s and Sous Chefs. There are Server traffic controls including one way food pick lines, elevators, and escalators. No choice, this Galley services a collection of dining rooms and specialty restaurants serving over 2,000 guests daily from early breakfast to the midnight buffets. For the record I could never stay awake for the Midnight Buffet. They make nearly everything from scratch, onboard. Soups, Sauces, Breads, Ice Cream & fluffy light Sorbets, Desserts, beautiful Pastries and the list goes on. The very few items purchased commercially included Hot Dog Rolls, Hamburger Rolls, Gluten Free products and Sugar Free Ice Cream. And cleanliness? The entire facility is sanitized in between each meal service. Same with each buffet station. Just spotless. You wouldn’t think that the dishwashing part of the tour would be interesting but I was fascinated. Staff separates all soft food waste from hard waste mostly bones. The soft waste gets sent through a mascerater system which turns in into a liquid held in a tank. The tank is discharged once the ship is at least 20 miles out to sea and makes for very happy marine life. The bones are condensed, held and picked up at the port to be recycled into Dog Food. To my Foodie friends, if you’re looking to take a cruise, check out Celebrity! This is NOT a paid promotion, I swear. Join us for foodie fun & education at Facebook Group #CaptainCooksBackyard

first time in Celebrity by bluecaroline

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

It's a good trip to disconnect but not a good place to be entertained. There was very little to do other than lounging at the pool. They kept playing the same movie over and over again. The music kinda sucks, the shows are meh .

Thanksgiving Cruise by lisaj321

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Summit

The main issue for us was the main dining room...we were seated at a nice table for 2 right in the middle of the tables with large families, adjacent to a table of 5 children, 1 adult. We love children and don’t mind being adjacent, the problem here wasn’t the children, it was the adults. All through dinner the children (who looked to range from 5-8) were climbing over the tables, standing on the chairs and in the windows and screaming at each other…the problem was the one adult seated with them was more interested in her phone and the rest of the adults in her party at another table across the aisle. It was impossible to identify which adults the kids belonged to as none of the adults interacted with them! Not once did she (or any of the adults in their group) remind them that they are in public, use your inside voice, it’s not polite to scream in a restaurant, come down off the table, sit in your seat, etc. I get it, this was a Thanksgiving cruise, so lots of families, but really? It’s simple, teach kids from a young age how to behave in public. We let our waiter (Sumantra) know that we wouldn’t be back and were pleased to find a new table assignment (on the “adult” side of the dining room…) for the remainder of the cruise. The new wait staff, Wilger (new to Celebrity) and Mayra (just a lovely lady), and Jomar, the sommelier, were fantastic.

Beautiful ship, wonderful service by 50hkrick

It was my first time on Celebrity, ship was smaller which was nice, less lines. Lots of fun things to do and staff were awesome. Just wasn't as thrilled with the main dining room meals, very small and a few were bland.
