Review summary

Good cruise, however, two disappointments . . . told our booker that my wife would be celebrating her birthday on board, AND we did not want a room with any obstruction. Also told dining director of birthday, and THIS TRIP, N O T H I N G, no recognition, truly sad. Previous cruises have had champagne or special treats delivered, this trip N O T H I N G! See photo of what we saw from balcony.

I feel your pain. When I went on the Horizon, it was my 13th birthday on Debarkation Day. My parents told the staff we wanted to celebrate the day before, they even reminded the staff in front of me. Dinner comes and goes, no cake. Turns out they were preoccupied with twin boys who were about 5 years old at a neighboring table. The Maitre'd called us later that night and apologized profusely, and after that, we were good...until the next day. We booked the plane to and from the ship through the cruise company and our flight was delayed both ways...12 hours on the way to the ship, 4 hours on the way home. We landed to catch our connection home, made an OJ Simpson dash through customs only to waive "Buh-bye" to our baggage when we got to the gate. So basically because of the cruise company, I not only missed my birthday cake that year, but I had to spend my birthday in the airport! On the bright side, they did give me a free hotel room for the night and flew us back First Class back home the next day. They also made arrangements to have our luggage held for us at our home airport....happy birthday to me! And yes, I'm still waiting for my cake!
