Definitely do your research before you go. Solstice is fantastic for adults-only vacations / more adult-oriented cruises. We didn't see many kids on this cruise. The ship is spacious and beautiful. We think it's a great ship for couples / romantic getaways.

Coming from the east coast, remember the time difference is four hours to Alaska. We had booked late seating and then realized we couldn't stay up that late. Everyone wants to eat early even if you go for select dining so I would recommend booking early seating if you're from the east coast.

Try to arrange the early seating time for the formal evening meal in the Grand Epernay Restaurant. It gives you more time to experience evening activities.

include seafood in the Oceanview, 14th floor. I think that if we have to pay more in order to know the other restaurants at least we should have more seafood in the main restaurant and in the Oceanview cafe in a cruise to Alaska.

We used room service every morning for breakfast and coffee. It was always on time and hot. I liked the fact that they always called to notify you that it was on its way. I used that call as our wake up call. We got 2 for 1 with that. :) I really enjoyed the 15th floor lookout seating area.

There is plenty of food on the ship deck 3 and 4 are the main dinning hall but you need to utilize the buffet on 14. The specialty restaurants are superb and would definitely recommend Silk harvest, Tuscan and if your in aqua class Blu was great. Murano was good but not my first choice.

If you are going on an early excursion from the ship, easier to order room service for a hot breakfast. You avoid the lines and get a good meal before you go.
