We were very disappointed in this cruise.  We had previously cruised with Carnival and were led to believe that Celebrity would be a "step up" from Carnival.  We did not find that to be the case.  The ship did not WOW us like our previous Carnival experiences.  We did not find the staff to be as friendly and personable as on our previous cruises.  Our dining room wait staff seemed flustered during the first night, so much so that we wondered if they were either understaffed or inexperienced, which we later found out not to be the case.  We had to repeatedly ask for our water glasses to be refilled and our coffee was served after our dessert was finished rather than at the same time.  The presentation of the food was underwhelming (i.e. Chilled Pear Ginger Soup served as a pale soup in a plain white bowl... no garnish (just one example).  We could go on and on but suffice it to say that we will probably never cruise with Celebrity again and would not recommend it to others.

Some of the food was tasty but most of it lacked presentation.

Nothing special

We really did enjoy the entertainment. Special Guest Speaker, Brent Nixon, a naturalist and expert on Alaska was very entertaining and informative. Two excellent comedians... A.J. Jamal and Fred Klett. Also, acapella group, The Edge Effect was very entertaining.

Service and Staff

Dining room wait staff, in particular, didn't have it together...seemed inexperienced even though we later found out that our waiter had been doing this for 12 years!

Ship Quality

Very underwhelmed by the ship's design. It was very clean; including the kitchen area which we were able to tour. Very impressed with the cleanliness but not the decor.

Cabin / Stateroom

Again... it didn't WOW us. We paid A LOT of money for this cruise and we expected to be blown away. The first thing we noticed when we walked in was the lack of a towel animal on our bed. Next we found a 1/2 used bottle of lotion in our bathroom and no shampoo. Not a good first impression. On the bright side...the bed was comfortable and the room was clean.

Ship Tip

Don't go. Choose a different cruise line.

We took a "Seattle in a Day" tour through Viator. It was fabulous! Worth the money and very informative and entertaining. Shout out to our tour guide, Steve who made it so much fun.

Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska

We ended up going through Endicott Arm because of large chunks of ice in Tracy Arm. A good decision on the Captain's part. Scenery was beautiful and the Captain got close the glacier and did 360 degree turn so everyone got to see the beautiful scenery.

Our excursion was on the White Pass Railway and was worth the cost and very enjoyable.
