Traveled as: Couple

Review summary

Our first cruise on Celebrity after 5 Carnival cruises & 1 Norwegian (total 7 cruises). This was as good as we were told it would be by previous fellow travelers we’ve met on other cruises. Staff was great, the food was excellent, the atmosphere was very relaxing. However, the paid unlimited internet service was a disappointment. All in all, it was a great experience and we’ve moved our loyalty to Celebrity.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

5 out of 5
There’s many wonderful things to do in Seattle if you arrive a few days early, as we did.

Ketchikan, Alaska

Great port. We took the floatplane & crab feast excursion. All the crab you could eat. Plane trip was beautiful & very smooth.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

5 out of 5
The was spectacular. The Captain put the ship within a couple of hundred yards of the glacier and we sat there for nearly 45 minutes. He then had the ship do a 360 degree turn so everyone had a great view of the glacier before moving along. One of the crew members gave an outstanding audio review of the glacier & surrounding area.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Incredible port. We took a whale watching excursion. Saw multiple humpback whales. Delightful experience.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
Another great port. There were 4 cruise ships at the same time while we were there. The town handled the influx of tourists flawlessly. Took the train to the Yukon. Long but beautiful. Worth the experience.

Cruise Inside Passage, Alaska

5 out of 5
Beautiful.

Victoria, British Columbia

5 out of 5
Victoria is just spectacular. We took an exciting to the butterfly garden (best one we've ever been to including different countries) and then to the unparalleled Butchart Gardens which must be the most beautiful gardens this side of heaven.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Celebrity’s side of disembarkation was great. Exiting the ship went easily & was well organized. We took the Celebrity bus transfer to the airport. It was competitively priced & very, very easy to connect with. The Seattle port lost a piece of luggage which we are supposed to receive tomorrow, 6 days after we returned from the cruise. The Fedex tracking number they gave us is invalid & they haven’t responded to emails requesting more information. BIG disappointment.

We were on the Solstice in 2015. Besides spectacular weather we also had a spectacular time. The Solstice is top notch in everything. No need for a specialty restaurant. The MDR was absolutely delicious. Loved loved loved all the ports and excursions we did in Alaska but Butchart Gardens in Victoria was unbelievable. It’s a must see. We did the excursion through the ship and it was just fantastic.
