Review summary

This was our first cruise in more than 25 years and first time on Celebrity cruise line. it was top quality all the way. Very friendly and accommodating staff. We paid for a lower level stateroom with a balcony. Balcony was great to see the scenery. Didn't need to pay for larger room since it was spacious enough for 3 adults and we spent most of the time outside of the stateroom at all of the other venues.

Ship tip

Purchase drink, gratuity, and internet packages plus all excursons in advance. They're available once on board but more expensive and once you leave port these additional charges if not pre-paid in a package are applied to your room for a big bill at the end.

The Dog Musher Tour was a bust. After an exhausting 2+ hour bus ride, we had about an hour to vist Caribou Crossing. It was too hot to actually get the dog sled ride.

Beuchart Gardens were beautiful. The rip off was the $13 per person round trip shuttle. It took us about 2 miles to the Empress Hotel. The Gardens tour bus met us there. After the tour, it took us back to the ship. So didn't need the shuttle at all. Could have walked into town or taken a cab.

Solstice is very modern. About 10yo now. Consider looking it up on You Tube. Best waitstaff ever. We did MDR every night as they where so good. Stunning atrium area. I did feel underdressed wearing a tee shirt at times so I went with polo's after a couple days. Wouldn't hesitate to book a Solstice class ship.
