Review summary

Not sure if it was because I was celebrating my birthday or not but we were invited to view the arrival of the ship from the helipad. Thanks Celebrity Solstice for making this birthday one of my top 5 birthday trips! Really the BEST BIRTHDAY EVVA!!!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
While in the baggage claim area in Seattle there were several employees with signs for different cruise lines. We were able to pay for our luggage and ourselves to be transported from the airport to the port for a nominal fee. Once at the port the check in process was relatively smooth. These guys have done this before :)

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
I was celebrating my birthday. Seating was prompt and the ambiance was great! I like the variety of the food in the general eating room

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I enjoyed the activities that were offered The silent disco and the music and general trivia were fan faves

Entertainment

2 out of 5

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our steward was outstanding. We had a few requests and nothing was too bizarre for him. He was extremely helpful and at the ready with a smile.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The common areas were clean. All ship layouts are confusing until the last day and then it's time to leave. :)

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was comfortable. It was clean. However, we were quite disappointed and very unhappy that there was not an iron or a steamer in the room. Our only recourse was to pay an abhorrent fee for something that should be a given. I would have brought my own had I known ahead of time. No one likes to wear wrinkle clothes.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

4 out of 5
Visited Seattle on return to port. Visited Space Needle. Seattle public transportation is convenient and easy to use. However, the do need a few more obvious signs for tourists visiting your city

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
We did the Crabfeast Flightseeing excursion. The crabs were hot and huge and an all you can eat. Go hungry! A great time had by all!

Juneau, Alaska

3 out of 5
Our excursion to land on the Mendenhall Glacier was cancelled. No reason provided and no alternative offered. Did receive a refund. We shopped and took a last minute tour of the city. Had our own personal tour guide since it was the last tour of the day. Nice!

Skagway, Alaska Did not visit port

Mudslide kept ship from docking had to take a detour to Icy Strait. Pleasant surprise in Ivy Strait. Whales showed up and out on a last minute Whale Excursion. Icy Strait needs more tourist options. Town is a bit bleak

Victoria, British Columbia

4 out of 5
Did not do an excursion but did lots of shopping. A very beautiful and quaint town

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Disembarkation went as smooth as silk. We didn't have to wait long before the ship allowed us off and we were able to get through customs very quickly.

There are no irons in staterooms nor can you bring one from home. This is ALL cruise ships. The reason is obvious, irons can cause a fire and nobody wants to be in the middle of the ocean on a ship that is on fire!
