Review summary

A wonderful experience and I would highly recommend. I can't begin to explain just how much my family and I enjoyed the service, the food, the scenery and the ports.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Fantastic. We were traveling with 13 people; one was a senior citizen and one was 19 months old. What an easy check-in experience. The folks in Seattle couldn't have been nicer. And of course, the party started the moment we stepped on ship and were offered a glass of champagne!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was delicious! Th ability to offer fantastic dining experiences to so many people at the same time is amazing. My family enjoyed a light room service breakfast every morning and then proceeded to enjoy the casual buffet later. Dinner one night in the Tuscan Grille was unforgettable! And the crew was so gracious to all of us - from old to young! I have had better food in restaurants on land. But the entire experience - being on board ship, with my family, seeing amazing sights and solicitous service all equaled a terrific dining experience.

Onboard Activities

We enjoyed relaxing in the many lounges and watching the beautiful scenery of Alaska (!) right outside our windows. If you sail with Captain Tasos on the Solstice, I highly recommend his talk about the building of the ship. Fascinating and the man is a natural comedian! His morning remarks were. Real highlight of the ship. #GiveThatManARaise!didnt tak

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Didn't really take advantage of the many entertainment options, but the comedy show on the first night was very funny and the live bands playing at different times were very good!

Children's Programs

My granddaughter really enjoyed the fun factory - a chance for her to run off some steam with mommy and daddy (she is 19 months old). My 17 year old grandson enjoyed the pools, hot tubs, basketball court, arcade and more. We never saw him. :). He was a very happy camper!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Wish I could give a dozen stars! Our cabin steward - Jorge - was a gentleman! He treated my mom so well and made our cruise an unforgettable experience. All other staff we encountered were so friendly, funny and helpful. Every bartender (and we met them all!) was fantastic, but I'll give a special shout-out to Singh at The Sunset Bar! Simply fantastic.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Yes - so clean and we appreciated their constant maintenance on the ship. A couple of times, we were able to take a peak behind doors that were closed to guests and I was equally impressed with how clean the crew area was as well.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Perfect! It was always clean, it was comfortable and became our home away from home.

Ship tip

Take some time to really explore the ship. There are all kinds of wonderful, quiet nooks available for a quiet drink, nap or book reading.

Did not go ashore, but what a beautiful port and harbor.

Disembarkation

Amazing how they manage to get almost 3,000 people off a ship so smoothly. No lost luggage, no frayed nerves. Just sad to leave the ship!
