Review summary

We had an excellent vacation on the Celebrity Solstice! The ship was clean and the staff was outstanding. There was always something to do on the ship when we were out at sea. The food was excellent and the on-board entertainment was great. A lot of information was provided on everything you can see from glaciers to all different types of wildlife by an Alaska expert Brent Nixon. The ports we stopped out had a lot to do and we had plenty of time to enjoy the port towns.

I don't see a need for a beverage package unless you really drink A LOT.

Big enough and with all the scenery, having a balcony was well worth it.

Ship tip

Don't take a beverage package unless you really want to consume a lot of drinks or you are with a large group of friends.

Have to see the market area.

Ketchikan, Alaska

Small town with lots of shops.

Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska

Better to have a balcony room or a room with a great view.

Juneau, Alaska

excursion - definitely do the whale watch with the Mendenhall Glacier tour. The one tour does both.

Skagway, Alaska

Definitely take the white pass rail excursion. Get a seat on the left if taking the train up and on the right if taking the train down for best views. Take a bus the opposite way of the train. Don't bother taking the train both ways. Should have plenty of time to see the town and all the shops too.

Victoria, British Columbia Did not visit port

Take an orca killer whale excursion. Not as much to see around town as the other cities. Twenty minutes around the Empress Hotel area is good enough after the whale tour.
