Our pre cruise tour included the Wilderness Express train to Talkeena , buses to Denali Park and return to Anchorage. In Seward boarded the Millennium. All ports but Icy Strait Point we’re return visits for us. Cruising in Alaska is always a good vacation. Even though it was raining in some ports, and getting out with a raincoat on , still makes the trip here worth while.
Embarkation

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Chose Celebrity Select Dining for a 6:30 time . This worked best for our group. Had the same table for 8 and waiters for the entire cruise. Deck 4 right next to the window. Food was good and the service even better. Ocean View Cafe had good selections for both breakfast and lunch . Did not have dinner there. Also enjoyed breakfast a couple of times in Luminae seeing it came with our cabin . Limited menu but food was good. Wait staff always asking if we needed anything.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Mostly used the hot tubs . Did some walking on deck in the mornings.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Enjoyed all shows attended in the theater. Singers and Dancers were outstanding. The magician was rather entertaining. Acrobatic show was well performed and Ashley Amber tribute to Whitney Houston was the best ! She’s great! Evening music in the Rendezvous Lounge before dinner was upbeat . After the first night , made sure we returned there to listen.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Received great service all week. Friendly staff all around the ship. We were spoiled with the butler service of Radu. Always there when needed.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
As many people have commented before, Millennium is an older vessel and it’s showing. But if you never leave the inside of the ship , you’ll never know. The inside is top notch!
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Our cabin was the Celebrity Suite. Plenty of space to get around in. Storage could have been a bit better. King Bed was comfortable. Daughter said the fold out sofa was hard. Use of in cabin binoculars were handy at Hubbard Glacier. Bath tub /shower had a whirlpool, but was rather a big step to get out of. Overall, the cabin is good sized , easy to get around in. The tall windows made viewing Alaska enjoyable.
Ship tip
Don’t let this smaller ship fool you. Service , staff and entertainment are all at a high level. It’s worth a return.
Fog to start the day , but it lifted and the inside passage viewing was perfect. Some folks onboard mentioned seeing Orka whales. Have always have enjoyed the smooth ride the passage usually gives.
Again , a return trip was rainy. Took the Blue Bus to the Mendenhall Glacier Center. Self toured the area. Then some shopping at the port. Returned to the ship for late lunch.
Booking an excursion is a good idea here. Lumberjack show is always fun. We just self toured and hit some shops. Back on board for late lunch. Busy the day we stopped.
This was our first time to visit this port. While walking on the pier/gangway to go ashore, whales were already in close sight. I had read that this port was known for whale watching, but thought an excursion was needed. Not today! Things to do , gift shops , gondola ride, Duckpoint Smokehouse and the long Zip Line. Hoonah is close by for those who want to go.
Second time on the White Pass Railroad. I enjoy this excursion for the views. Returned to town to the Skagway Brewing Co. for lunch. Food and beverage were both good.
