Review summary

Really enjoyed our time. We did take a land tour prior to the cruise. However, right now if this was your bucket list cruise, I would personally wait maybe a year or two to go back. Things were not up and running the way they were 3 years ago. I am not putting the cruise or the scenery down, it's just things were not running smoothly right now. They don't have the staff on land like everywhere else to service the people. It's hard to give a review, when things are not back to normal.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Been on Millennium back in 2019 prior to the pandemic to Alaska. I will say though that Alaska was better back then and so was the ship. Things were good, enjoyed having only 1300 passengers onboard. Food didn't seem quite as up to par as it was 3 years ago. Improvements in the Oceanview Cafe was needed. As far a Tuscan Grille, was not happy with the food. It was not $45.00 worth each person. Spoke with several other people they felt the same, and when we spoke with our waiter in Blu he said he had heard the same complaints. We did eat in Blu every night and all but 2 mornings, the food was very good. Drinks were great we had the Classic Package and that is good for us. If there is a drink we wanted that was out of the category, you just pay for the difference. To us it's not worth it to get the Premium package.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
I'll rate it excellent. We really didn't get involved with onboard activities.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Enjoyed the entertainment. I wish they had more of a theatrical show though. I have been on Celebrity ships, where they had them. Do like the live orchestra and hoping that they continue to keep the live music. I make sure I let them know each survey. I think they are one of the few ships that still have live bands.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Service and the staff were excellent. When we ate in Blu they were always attentive. Everyone was very friendly throughout the ship. Did meet the Captain twice, came to Tuscan Restaurant and also in Blu restaurant.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
I know the ship was updated in 2019, but there still needs to be some maintenance issues that need to be addressed. As far as cleanliness, they were always keeping things clean and sanitized.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was great. We were on the 11th deck in an Aqua class room. However, when they updated the showers 3 years ago, the design was terrible. The door goes into the shower, it should open outward, and then the handlebar that is right in the middle is in a bad place. Thould be moved to the angled wall. My husband kept hitting his arm on the bar. He is not a big man but that bar is in the way. I even hit it a couple times.

Ship tip

Make sure you don't take the back elevators down to the gangway they specify because you will not be able to go to midship. I would at least go to deck 5 midship then proceed to what gangway they specify.

Only went there to get to the airport. Visited there 3 years ago and did a shore excursion before airport, so didn't see much. Not impressed. Maybe there is other things to do.

Disembarkation

Got off almost last, because our flight was a late one. But got the luggage fine and the transport to airport was good.
