Review summary

We would recommend this trip to anyone. We saw far more wildlife than we had expected. Since we hadn't really taken excursions on other cruises, we were very pleased with the ones we chose on this trip. The ship was clean and well-run.

Cabin / Stateroom

No issues at all. We were in a concierge class on the back of the ship. Ronnie was our steward. I don't have the paperwork on our room number. Walking toward the aft on the right, our room was one in from the port side.

Ship tip

I don't think there is anything that I could caution on, and the trip was memorable.

Ports of call

We went directly from the Amtrak train to the ship.

We went on a Kayak excursion and hiked.

Juneau, Alaska

We went on the Mendenhall glacier hike (strenuous but well worth the effort) and also on the afternoon whale watching trip. Both were excellent.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
Skagway is a fun little town, and the White Pass Railway was spectacular. What a way to learn about the gold rush.

Seward (Anchorage), Alaska

The Resurrection Bay trip was interesting. We saw whales, eagles, sea lions and otters. The weather could have been better, but overall it was a nice day.
