Review summary
I traveled with a group of 5 family members spanning 3 generations, all over 35 years of age. We all had a wonderful time and each of us were able to select satisfying ways to see the sights of the Alaska coast. We enjoyed our dinners in the main restaurant with reserved dining times where the service was outstanding and the food was excellent. In contrast, the cafeteria style restaurant food where we had lunch was mediocre without sufficient healthy choices and at times so crowded we could not find a place to sit; some of the food service stations in this cafeteria had long lines; breakfast options at this cafeteria were better but the service was inconsistent: sometimes the coffee ran out and once the poached egg cook disappeared for 15-20 minutes. I don't have a lot of comparison experience, but I don't think this cruise offers the best value compared to other cruise companies. We reserved the cruise through American Airlines vacations and were led to believe that we the package we purchased included amenities that we were not honored by the cruise company on board.
