Review summary

We achieved two bucket list items - Panama Canal transit and catching a marlin. We had a fabulous time on the Infinity, felt right at home, and didn't want to get off!! I would highly recommend our Celebrity Suite to anyone - with a separate bedroom, my husband (who gets up before me) was able to get up and get some coffee, catch up on emails, and not bother me at all.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Our embarkation was held up as they were deep cleaning the ship - the prior cruise had a norovirus outbreak. However, they kept us well informed, comfortable, and provided water and snacks.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate in Luminae or the Specialty restaurants every night and they were all fantastic!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We especially like the guests, Bill and Milos, who had talks every sea day on the Canal, Ports, Sealife, and various other items of interest.

Entertainment

5 out of 5

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Within a day, everyone knew our name - bartenders, waiters, concierge, etc. I really don't know how they do it, but it made us feel very much at home.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is very easy to navigate. And although it's starting to show some wear and tear, it was always very well maintained and extremely clean.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
Very nice layout and easy embarkation process.

Cartagena, Colombia

3 out of 5
Very pretty older city, but the people trying to sell you things were so bad (in your face, following you around, stepping in front of you, not taking no for an answer), we have no desire to ever return.

Colon, Panama

5 out of 5
We didn't visit Colon itself (which is in bad shape), but had a fantastic private excursion through Robtad's and had a wonderful time seeing the locks, and Old and New Panama City.

Panama Canal Transit

5 out of 5
Very long, very exciting day - this feat of engineering, prior to computers, completely amazed me - what a fabulous experience!

Puntarenas, Costa Rica

5 out of 5
Private tour with Thumbs Up took us all over Costa Rica. We saw the rain forest, iguanas, toucans, scarlet macaws, capuchin monkeys, crocodiles, etc.

Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala

4 out of 5
The port doesn't really have much to offer. We took a ship tour to the Pacaya Volcano - very interesting.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
We just walked around the city for awhile and then went back to the ship.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

5 out of 5
Rented a fishing charter with JCSPortfishing and caught a marlin - tons of fun!!

San Diego, California

5 out of 5
Nice layout and easy disembarkation. We took an Uber to the airport, which was also very easy.
