Review summary
The cruise started in San Diego, California. The itinerary was great and the places were all very interesting. We were very lucky to have stayed at the Wyndham Bayside in San Diego, as the ship was docked directly across the street from the hotel. We have cruised with Celebrity over 15 times and were disappointed with the ship and service on this cruise. We did have a great time but we noticed how Celebrity Cruises has cut back on its food quality and service. They are trying to keep down costs but at a sacrifice to their impeccable reputation. We had a ask for items several times before we got it. Sometimes food came to the table very slowly. You were lucky if you got your coffee with your dessert. The entertainment was mostly very good but they had comedians 2 nights and magicians 2 nights. There could have been more variety. What we were most disappointed at was Michael's Club. It used to be a place where you could go after the show. There used to be a piano player putting on a wonderful performance. Now that large room is only for use by the 72 guests who have suites. I call it "Michael's Snob". Celebrity seems to want to cater to the elite. I certainly didn't feel like a Celebrity. Also, I had to ask for body wash and was told that only Aqua Class guests were automatically given that item. That made me feel kind of cheap. As for the ship, it was in not so great condition. The air quality was horrible. Elevators and corridors were extremely hot, while other areas were extremely cold. I enjoyed the cruise but was disappointed with Celebrity.

Ship tip
You can book all your excursions off the ship and save tons of money. Bring your own water bottles and fill them up with ice and water. The ports on this cruise are extremely hot.
