Celebrity Equinox Cruise Reviews - Reviews

This was our 4th cruise of the year and we had a great time! We really enjoyed Celebrity and Equinox. We sailed on this ship for 14 nights back in December of 2016 and the Captain and Cruise Director were the same.  Great organization to everything that was done. The only shortfall was that it seemed that the Main Dining Room Menu had less options available and the waiters seemed a little overworked. Our Room Stewart in Room # 9292 Tanya was OUTSTANDING! Always went above and beyond! Everyone worked hard to please us.On and off ship was smooth and easy. Well pleased overall with ship and service received! Can't wait to go on the new Edge! 

Everything was as expected.  Good food.  Entertainment was top-notch and varied enough to be interesting for all of the nights.  The value was also very good.

This was the best cruise yet! The ports on it ,were wonderful choices. Staff was very friendly and the ship clean. So nice to go into such clean restrooms and have cloth hand towels to use. Always clean and someone attending to them.

Very nice paced cruise with two sea days at the front and the back end. The ports were all in a row. We had a concierge 2 balcony cabin which was very well appointed with plenty of room. Cabin stewart very attentive and not intrusive.

Food; main dining room offered a variety of items each day with great service.

We had purchased a four pack of specialty restaurants and had wonderful meals at Murano and Silk (Chinese). We chose not to eat at Tuscan grill or the Sushi. The buffet was also very good for breakfast and lunch choices. You needed to walk around to the different stations to see all the offerings. I did notice the reduction in the staffing, as to cleaning the tables, passing extra coffee, and bar service was way less than previous sailings. The onboard entertainment was varied with comedians, singers, Frankie Valli type group  (December '63) who were excellent, and the usual cruise singers and dancers production type shows.  "The Corning Glass demonstrations were fantastic and the ladies who were the glass blowers were very informing. Embarkation  was very delayed due to US Coast Guard ship inspection, so we sat an hour and a half before they would let us board. Disembarkation was very quick and painless. All in all, a great cruise and would sail Celebrity again.

We have been on 49 cruises, and this cruise overall was the best ever in terms of life on the ship. Great food, best trained crew we have ever encountered.

The only part of the cruise which could be improved was the entertainment by the Celebrity singers & dancers.  Although extremely talented young people, they perform material provided to them by "corporate". Corporate should know that the age bracket of their customers is in the "senior" category. No one with whom I spoke could relate to the music in these shows (3 of them). The other evenings wonderful entertainment was presented.

Highly recommend Celebrity Cruise Line and the Equinox is a very nice ship. The staff is friendly and helpful; the entertainment is exceptional; the dining is excellent. We only our time at sea as there is so much to do onboard and cruising is very relaxing. The ports on this particular cruise were not the most exciting, but our beach and tour excursions booked through Celebrity were enjoyable.

The service on the ship is excellent. All the staff and crew are fantastic. The food in the main dining room was sub-par - on the level of what you would get at a casual dining restaurant (e.g. Fridays, Applebees). If you want quality dining room food you have to pay quite a bit extra for specialty dining on top of what you have already spent for the cruise. The buffet is quite good for buffet style, but since we were traveling with someone with limited mobility this was not a good option for us because of the lines. Overall, too many lines - lines for coffee, food, drinks, etc. I was disappointed to have to spend much of my vacation waiting on lines - not for me. It seems they are trying to cram too many people on one ship causing too long of a wait for everything. The entertainment was OK - evening shows were pretty good, however, much of the onboard activities they provide are actually a veiled attempt to just get you to buy/shop on the ship. Since we were there to relax and have fun and not to shop and spend even more money, this was terribly disappointing. If you are not too concerned about your dining and like to shop and spend money then this is probably a good option, but if not, I would warn to stay off Celebrity.

This was our First cruise with Celebrity.  We have cruised before on many other lines, including Norwegian, Royal Caribbean, Holland America...etc  We enjoyed the  cruise, particularly the itinerary, the three days in New Orleans.  We went to Garden District, WW   II museum .. Excellent.  Felix's for oysters, Pat Obriens, Cafe do Monde and other French Quarter haunts.

The Jazz fest in New Orleans was the Highlight of the cruise. We have the first time been in Mahahual which was a great exprerience. The only disadvantage was that it was raining the third day in New Orleans

Celebrity Equinox is a beautiful ship. My fiancée and I had a blast. we booked one year in advance with two free perks. the value and quality was great. We only ate once in the dinning room as the buffet had everything we liked. the entertainment was  very good. the crew was very helpful in all aspects of service. We really enjoyed our room with the concierge service.. nice lil perks came with the room we will book again on celebrity when we cruise again.

As always, we adore St Thomas.  It would still be better with docking at Havensite to the "new" facility.  The available tours were quite good although a better description especially including the amount of walking is necessary. 

Ports of call, were not interesting

Ship activities were dull. Entertainment not geared to the age group

Cabin/ food/ service/cleanliness were as always excellent

THe only complaint we had about the trip was the ports we docked at were not easily accessible to shopping.  We were in a more industrial area.   Also the couple of excurions we booked did not have much to offer for souvenir shopping either.    Other than that room, food, shows were EXCELLENT!!!!!

While overall the experience was good here are some areas for improvement 

- you need to offer a "single " price structure; unfair to charge for two persons all fees, including Port fees for one person

- I was entitled to 2 bottles of wine per stateroom and one was confiscated! While it was returned at the end of the trip it was unfair! 

- I would recommend another Port than Puerto Limón; not a  dry interesting and nice city to visit 

- more daily food variety at the main buffet would have been nice

Food is fair. Bar service is horrible. If you don't mind standing in line you will enjoy this cruise. This was our 12th and last cruise. Very disappointing.

Never received any onboard credit and will not cruise again.  Easier to fly to a destination and experience it for more than 6 hours.  Crowded venues and "premium" restaurants not worth it.  Concierge cabins are a joke. 

For the most part, the cruise was great with the exception of our cabins.  We booked Category C2 and were assigned cabins 2139, 41, 43 and 45 on Deck 12.  The first evening, we were treated to noise from the overhead of numerous carts rolling and bumping over the seams and entryways.  There was the clatter of pots and pans rattling.  The noise went on the entire evening and into the morning.  We did some investigation and learned that we were below the dishwasher for the Oceanview Café.  We met with senior members of the Hotel Staff and we were moved after a couple of days.  This is a design-flaw in EVERY Silhouette Class ship.  The cabin SHOULD NOT be sold as C2 but rather the same way as any other Veranda-Class cabin with an obstructed view and there should be a disclaimer about the noise!!!!

The food in the main dining room is some of the best in the mass cruise industry. Details in the ship are tremendous, even down to the washroom attendants constantly cleaning. 

Crew was one of the friendliest I've encountered. 

We are frequent Celebrity cruisers and enjoy the Equinox. The staff was great in fixing the problem with the 12th deck staterooms. We will travel with Celebrity again. We will also go to directly to Executive management at Celebrity regarding the staterooms, and petition them to put a disclaimer on the website regarding the noise level in these cabins. The situation we encountered should have been known to us prior to departure, just as a restricted view is disclosed in advance. The good news is the staff moved our cabin. The ships executive staff is professional, efficient and friendly. All other factors regarding the ship, the cruise destinations, the food and the amenities of the ship earn a 5 star rating.
