Review summary

For the most part, the cruise was great with the exception of our cabins.  We booked Category C2 and were assigned cabins 2139, 41, 43 and 45 on Deck 12.  The first evening, we were treated to noise from the overhead of numerous carts rolling and bumping over the seams and entryways.  There was the clatter of pots and pans rattling.  The noise went on the entire evening and into the morning.  We did some investigation and learned that we were below the dishwasher for the Oceanview Café.  We met with senior members of the Hotel Staff and we were moved after a couple of days.  This is a design-flaw in EVERY Silhouette Class ship.  The cabin SHOULD NOT be sold as C2 but rather the same way as any other Veranda-Class cabin with an obstructed view and there should be a disclaimer about the noise!!!!

Cabin was awful. Located immediately under the dishwasher for the Oceanview Café. Constant noise from the overhead as carts were rolled around and pots and pans rattled. The noise was 24X7. We complained and were moved after a couple of days. I received an A3 cabin. Wow - a courtesy downgrade!

Ship tip

DO NOT BOOK A CONCIERGE Class cabin on Deck 12 Aft.

We've never paid too much attention to anything other than the class of cabin - twice got "specials" - once due to an obstructed view, once because it was directly by an active anchor. Frankly? Both were doable. Never experienced the crash and rattle of pots and pans and such.

Before you book or while online with agent pull-up cruisedeckplans.com choose your ship and you can get s good, magnified look at each deck and the cabins, had you done so, you would have seen the area above your cabin was right below the ocean view cafe.

Always pick your rooms before you speak with whom ever you are going through for your cruise. Always look at the floor above and below your choices and make sure nothing that could be noisy.
