Check out the Captain of the vessel. It is the Captain who sets the tone and the reason, I believe, that the crew was so welcoming and in a good spirits. I will follow this captain throughout his career. He was exceptionally special. Might I add....usually, I don't pay much attention to the daily captain's briefings. But, THIS Captain, made it fun to listen to, such that I looked forward to his ship-position, funnies, sayings, knowledge of history, etc.

When walking from bow to stern choose deck 4 or 5 so you don't have to walk down long aisles of cabins!

Frankly I would recommend avoiding this ship until it receives a major update and through cleaning after the COVID outbreak we endured.

Explore other cruise companies first as in my experience, the off ship customer service (embarking, no responses to complaint emails, no apologies for reduced itinerary) is non-existent. Shame as onboard staff were great

Be patient! Yes, you spent money on this cruise, but so did everyone else. And the staff is just getting back in the swing of things—just enjoy!

Bring a re-usable coffeecup to fill at Oceanview Cafe. Lots of paper cups wasted and ceramic cups too small. We also brought an extra plate to the table in the Oceanview to reserve our spot and keep our silveware and such as we moved around.

Don’t be surprised if you get ill. People get off the ship for excursions and become exposed. For example, there are no mask mandates when riding a bus. People enter bars and shops and become exposed in crowded indoor areas and bring the virus back on the ship.

Internet access isn't good, especially when not in a port. So if you are hoping to get away from being connected, the cruise is perfect!
