Celebrity Eclipse Cruise Reviews - Reviews

Our cruise to Labadie, Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire was a wonderful experience. We visited those colorful islands with beautiful beaches, wonderful weather on each of the islands during the cruise.  It was amazing because we were in the middle of December. The Eclipse is a beautiful, modern ship, with excellent food. They have amazing shows and singers that my husband and I  expected every night to see them. The library was also a lovely place to go out there and check books. 

The attention of the crew members  in each one of the areas of the ship, the high quality of the food and the shows, the beauty of each of the areas and the Itinerary they offer,  really make us think to plan a future vacation with Celebrity Cruises.

My experience on this cruise ship was really good, I enjoyed myself each day on the ship and off the ship exploring the different islands we stopped at. The staff were amazing and friendly. I would definitely cruise with celebrity again, because celebrity is my favorite cruise line overall. 

Great experience, ports of call, weather, ship, food, adult experience. Quality above other cruise lines and the environment excellent for relax and enjoyment. Very recommended for families/couples without children, a five star resort on water. 

As a family, with 2 adult children, we decided to go on a cruise and since it was the last minute decision, we were not sure if we chose the right one. I have to admit that choosing Celebrity Eclipse was one of the greatest decision we ever made. We had so much fun, food was great, and services and hospitality was outstanding. 

The ship was refurbished in 2015 but the cabin seemed to be very old.  The beds were poor and had a large hump in the middle when put together.  The pillows are old and got very flat and hot during the night.  The entertainment was at the best mediocre.  People got up and left after a few minutes.  (I will say one comedian was funny.)  The sound system in the theater was not much better.   The on shore time was good and shopping was a hassle but it always is in these two ports.  The food was good and they offered a great selection.  The room steward was excellent.  He always had a smile and a great attitude.  Had to leave him an extra tip because if you have prepaid gratuities, he only gets a few dollars each day.  Because the prepay was through a travel agent, I could not get a refund (we never ate in the dinning room so why pay the biggest tip to them).  Over all it was a relaxing vacation and having breakfast on our balcony each day was almost worth the vacation.

Michael did a great job of taking care of our reservations and we will be using Cruises Only many times in the future.

This was our first cruise ever and we absolutely loved it.  The ship and staff were amazing.  They treat you like royalty!  All of the staff knew us by name and went above and beyond to make sure that we had the best vacation ever.  My wife and I could not stop talking about what a great experience this cruise was for us.  We loved it so much that we booked another cruise with Celebrity next year! Thank you Celebrity for such an amazing experience.

We were a party of 10 and the Cruise was terrific.  The service could not be better and the food was terrific.  The dinning room staff went out of the way to assure we had a wonderful dinning experience.  The head waiter cook charge in providing two (2) people that required special meals.  Every one was so friendly.

This 14 night cruise has everything you could want. An itinerary of southern Caribbean islands, great entertainment,  and beautiful accommodations. The Celebrity Eclipse is a beautifully furnished ship and boasts a marvelous staff. The dining room menu was always magnificent and the buffet was easy and convenient. 

I will say drink packages were pricey. The average cost on a bottle of wine exceeded $45. The ultimate beverage package would have cost us almost as much as our cruise! But, all in all,  it's a great value. 

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this cruise except that there was so much to do that I feel as though I need another 14 nights to experience everything the ship has to offer.

The two sea days at the beginning of the cruise and two at the end are wonderful because you do not feel as though you need to decide between an excursion off the boat and remaining on board to experience the ship.  You really have time to enjoy the boat and begin your vacation and relaxation.

I have cruised on several different lines and will say with certainty that any future cruises with just my husband and myself will be on Celebrity!  I strongly recommend this wonderful experience.

Also, this was the best, quickest, and most convenient debarkation I've ever had...virtually no wait once we picked up our luggage and went through customs!

The main reason I choose Celebrity is, in the dining room the menu was much better than the one I took on the 29th of January of this year. By the way, one item on the everyday menu, you have listed a steak to be a New York steak, that steak is not what it says it is. Perhaps you should call it New York style. Even the French onion soup is not what it use to be, my wife makes a better soup than that. I took the same ship about a year before, the same itinerary less one day and I can tell you the chef cook or his under chef is not a good one. 

Also some of the service with some of your personal was not as good as in the past. Some, doesn't how to greet you and many other remark I noticed, one of them "grumping"

Not once, a band was playing on stage at the swimming pool, that, was cut off.

The shows at the theatre was horrible except one or two performance.

The ship itself was Okay.

Celebrity has the best ships and crew who want to make your time and tip a wonderful experience.  The specialty restaurants are exceptional.  The shows are the best with great music and entertainers. Speeches on NACA were extremely interesting and done thoroughly and created much dialog.  All of the excursions we scheduled went professionally and had great tour guides.

The main dinning room has had a section of its space carved out for a new "suites only" dinning room. Now you must walk through the dinning room from one side to find your table. Our table was just outside of this new dinning room. I must say it was an in your face "we and them". It made us feel as though we were not important enough anymore. With common areas being taken away like the Michael's Club and given to suites only passengers indicates to me Celebrity is forcing a class system and a bad impression. Put the suites only common areas up by their cabins. Stop taking our areas away. Our table mates also  sensed a rushed feeling  at dinner. Maybe there is a short staff issue but we did not have a quiet dinning experience. Have they squeezed the tables together for the new suites only dinning room. I don't know but It will be awhile before I book on Celebrity again at least until these bugs are worked out.

This vacation exceeded our expectation.From the moment we stepped on the ship we were overwhelmed.Boarding was very streamlined and Celebrity representatives were friendly and helpful.The cabin was such a great size and very comfortable.The cruise staff were wonderful as were the activities  and the entertainment was fantastic.Booking with Cruises Only was a very efficient process and we would not hesitate to book a vacation again.We were also very appreciative of the on board credits that also were above what we expected.

Overall trip was Excellent. Wish we had more time at each location to explore. Getting aboard, stateroom service, ship cleanliness, dining rooms and staff service, onboard activities, crew interactions thru challenges and games was something different and added to the overall cruise experience. Never had lines to go ashore for excursions. Would have rather gone thru Celebrity to schedule excursions because of the guaranties and the abilities to cancel 24 hours before excursion with a refund no questions asked.

Really nice ship with lots of programs and have good entertainments.

They have good programs that we can choose and lots  and lots of food.

We love the musical live show with good singers

The cruise staff are nice who treat us professionally.

Overall this cruise was very good. The food and entertainment were very good. The service in the main dining room and the specialty restaurants was quite good. There were enough onboard activities to do on the sea days.  The ship was well-maintained, clean and my cabin was quite comfortable. I would have like to see a better variety of shore excursions at some of the ports.

Apart from Boston ( see comments below) an overall pleasant experience on this ship. The modern designs were very agreeable and the staff were always pleasant and helpful.  It was good to see the .Captain and his officers regularly around the ship.

This was our first transatlantic cruise, and we weren't sure if we'd like being six full days at sea. We needn't have worried...it was the most relaxing and enjoyable holiday we've had for ages!

The food, as always on Celebrity, was first class, and the service left nothing to be desired. The theater shows were very good, particularly the Celebrity cast production numbers, but the live music at the various venues around the ship left a bit to be desired. The house band was only mediocre, and there didn't seem to be a good variety of entertainment available, with some of the acts playing in the same 'venues' throughout the 15 days. We'd hoped they might change at Boston or New York, but no such luck.

We decided to book a future cruise on board, because according to the Celebrity in-stateroom TV channel, those who booked would receive on board credit on both the current and the future cruise "no matter where". We booked another transatlantic, but went back the next day to check the details, only to be told that this offer didn't apply to transatlantic cruises. The TV ad was therefore misleading, and we're re-considering our options. We may change to a Royal Caribbean TA instead, as we think the entertainment might be better.

A note about US Customs and Immigration - the queues should be better managed, with staff checking non-US citizens' letters and stopping those with later appointments turning up too early and adding to the chaos.This immigration procedure has to be done twice, because Bermuda falls in between 2 US ports, the first on board before disembarking in Boston, and the second in port in Port Lauderdale, whether or not you intend to leave the ship, and everyone must disembark here. It was after 12:00 noon before we were told to leave the ship; naturally those on excursions had to go first. This took well over an hour, carving up what should have been a full relaxing day on board. I took the opportunity while waiting to do some packing.

About 100 passengers were going to stay on board and continue to the Caribbean cruise - we really wished we could too! Maybe in the future...
