Dont miss a chance to cruise Celebrity by tvitom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had just done a cruise a month ago on a different cruise line, "the party ships," and was underwhelmed with the experience so we were a little apprehensive as to what to expect on Celebrity. Well they knocked our socks off.

The Constellation, while an older ship and lacking some of the glitz of the newer ones, made up for it in service and other amenities. It starts when you walk on board, are greeted by name and offered champagne. We walked to our state room and were greeted by our room steward Mohammed by name and welcomed. Our room was impeccable yet we rarely saw anyone cleaning.

The food service was outstanding in each and every restaurant throughout the ship from the buffet to the main dining room. Food was head and shoulders above the "party ships" with an excellent variety of fish, pasta, steaks, and several specials.

Entertainment was top notch from the lounges to the main showroom. Very talented dancers and the guest performers were vegas quality.

If I have one gripe it was the preferentail treatment offered to suite and penthouse guests. I understand trying to "stroke" the high rollers, but it was sort of a slap in the face to the 90% or more of regular travellers who foot most of the income and fill most of the staterooms on cruise after cruise. Just things like roping off seats in the showroom and telling people "these are reserved for our premier classes," having restaurants just for penthouse guests and a few other things was just rather off putting.

Otherwise the cruise was great, our tablemates were a good match and led to a lot of group gatherings on and offvthe ship.

We are planning a cruise on their newer Solstice class ship in the near future.

Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall great experience!! Service, room attendants, food, shows, entertainment venues, all were excellent! Used large adult jacuzzi, very popular and accommodating!!

Only drawback noticed as in other cruises, slots do not have enough payouts!!

Texceeded our expections by albann

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

first encounter upon boarding the ship was the application of hand sanitizer by service attendant which I consider a brilliant procedure to avoid any sickness!

and the automatic hand sanitizer stations were present everywhere aboard the ship!

the entire ship was super clean.  Our stateroom attendant, Darkham was excellent about preparing, cleaning, and maintaining our room.

our waiter, Peter Mendes and his assistant Myeshram, provided excellent attention to detail and performance of their responsibilities.

the captain, Cpt Tazdos, was of superior mariner knowledge and his report with crew and especially passengers was superior.

based on this experience we highly anticipate our next Celebtity voyage.

thank you,

al bannister

Very good experience by matthewhaddad

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We reserved a luxury suite for our honeymoon. The service at the specialty restaurants and in the suite were great. Our suite itself was awesome. We had a couple of bad interactions with staff notably at the spa, but on balance it met expectations. The boat is a little on the older side for sure. It is not as flashy as some of the newer ships and there are some spots where you get funky smells. The activities and shows were very good as was the food.

Celebrity Constellation Review by sjh334

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Check-in was a breeze (arrived around 2:00 PM). The family veranda aft 7201 was spectacular for 2 people. Enormous balcony, 2 separate rooms and no noise! Room service was good. Shows were fantastic - very talented performers.  The cruise director, Rich, was beyond words - just the best! Also, Baldo ,the activities director was great! The ship is easy to navigate and just the right size. Our cabin attendants were very efficient. However, customer service was difficult at times. We ordered 2 margaritas at the pool bar (the only drinks we ordered on the ship) and they were horrible. It was very difficult to get the charge taken off the bill!!! Also, the worst part of the cruise was the food. Way too much lamb and pork on the menu. The meats, poultry and fish were not good. Fruits and veggies are ok. They don't have a midnight buffet or a snack station or themed food event. The ports were ok but couldn't get off in Key West due to weather. Overall, great especially that aft cabin- just the food is not good.

Let the people with celiac's disease have the gluten free desserts.! Why are they a secrtet?? by bethshadwick

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

we had a great time, enjoyed the shows and band.  I registered ahead for gluten free food because I have Celiac's disease.  After we boarded the ship, I had a delicious gf dessert from the buffet.  For the next two days, I asked various servers at the buffet line and there was no GF dessert except chocolate pudding.  They even ran out of the GF cookies served at the ice cream counter.  As they were running out, why wouldn't they reserve those cookies for GF customers??  The other customers can have anything they want.  Why was there nothing for preregistered gf guests?? Eventually I spoke with the pastry chef< Christopher.  Come to find out , he had prepared delicious gf desserts, but I had been told there were none at the buffet for two days.

At San Marcos restaurant, I could order 1 day ahead, So I could get the meal GF.  If I wanted the really good dessert cakes that Christopher made, I had to find out from Christopher, and then carry it up to San Marcos, from the buffet.  NO ONE in the entire San Marcos restaurant knows what the super secret GF dessert will be.  serious.  no one.  They just say its special". What if I don't want the sugar free cake that was ordered for me??  NO ONE in the whole entire restaurant will allow to make that choice.   I don't think your guests with this autoimmune disease should have to go through that much.  I have never had this problem with other cruise lines.  On other cruise lines, fresh bread  was baked for morning and actually allowed me to know that it existed.

Drink you way to the Bahamas and key west by efiemj

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I had a good time. I feel like the alcohol package is a must! It's extra but drink to your content!  I didn't get to see any shows . Dinner and room service 2as awesome. Staff gets a 5 star rating! I loved the staff so nice helpful and amazing. I wish we had more time at our destinations and I wish there was more than awesome pools !  I feel like it was too much money for the experience. It was expensive and end of the day I wish I did something else.

HORRIBLE NEW YEARS EVE CRUISE !!!! WORST CRUISE OF 20 PLUS by ramontasap

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My family and I have cruised 20 Plus cruises over 15 years. Some High End and some Lower. This last cruise we took was the WORST in the history of our experiences. Food was Mediocre - served cold sometimes - Officers in charge were indifferent when one of our family members was injured on board. Walking by without even stopping to help. Lunch staff was argumentative when questioned about food. SPA STAFF was especially - THE WORST - we both ordered massages and were simply rubbed oil on with massage and charged $164 EACH PLUS $29 tips EACH. When we complained - they stared at us like deer in headlights - no manager contacted us to try to make it right.

OVERALL 1 STAR is too much to score !! A-V-O-I-D !!!!!!!!!!!

Celebrity continues to impress us after being on many cruise lines.

Their professional and friendly staff along with accommodations exceed the competition. We will continue to book on their ships for our first choice.

GOOD NEWS-----BAD NEWS by lilaho4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

As a cruiser who does not cruise for food the good news is everything else was fine. While the ship, built in 2002,refurbished 2013 was fine, but not a knockout,it did have important assets. The main dining room was fine the theater had updated

electronics to  support fine entertainment the cabin, pool and general public areas were fine as was the cruise director and staff.

Now the bad news.

Dinners were mediocre the lunch buffet was horribleThere was no effort in presentation, food accessibllity(we had to reach under a low glass shield, with a very uncooperating tongs and then bring the snared food back toward us dropping some in the effort)which was rarely tastful or hot.

I thought i was in the Helps dining room

Back to Norweiganbuffet was always the same by icemgr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Brought my family of five. My Kids ages 16-19 had nothing to do!!! This is not a family friendly cruise.

The food at the buffet was the same thing everyday. I actually believe the pasta sauce was the same  one reheated all five days.

The main dining was better but still lacked variety and imagination. The portions were quite small.

The shows were ok but again not much for the kids. The game room had seven games and three were broken. They should have been free not $2.50 a hit!!!

At least the ports were beautiful and i highly recommend the dolphin trip!

The Captain was the nicest, most entertaining part of the voyage…. his cruise directors should take a lesson!

Good for relaxation, not so much for activities and fun by yadira0020

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I was looking forward to trying a Celebrity Cruise since it was my understanding that it was superior to RC... Which my husband and I love. We were disappointed in the lack of activities for young couples such as ourselves. The casino is quite small, no sports activities, and in general we had a hard time finding things to do on the ship. The food was just fine, but again was not any greater quality than that served on RC. The rooms and bathrooms especially were more spacious which was nice. Overall I would say if you are older and looking to simply relax this cruise will suit your needs. For those in their 30s as myself, will be choosing RC for our next cruise.

Best cruise I ever took by FLResidet

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The Constellation is well kept.  She has dignity. At about 2000 passengers, it is still small enough to feel exclusive.  Our suite was spacious and very attractive.  I liked the bottle of champagne waiting for us and there was flowers on the table and apples every day.    All the staff was great except the wine steward.  He got a little snippy with my wife.  Our butler, Wilfred, was the best.  He made sure everything was taken care of.  Wilfred deserves a raise.  He represents Celebrity Cruise Lines perfectly. I have taken about seven cruises but I will definitely  choose Celebrity for my next cruise.
