Review summary

We had just done a cruise a month ago on a different cruise line, "the party ships," and was underwhelmed with the experience so we were a little apprehensive as to what to expect on Celebrity. Well they knocked our socks off.

The Constellation, while an older ship and lacking some of the glitz of the newer ones, made up for it in service and other amenities. It starts when you walk on board, are greeted by name and offered champagne. We walked to our state room and were greeted by our room steward Mohammed by name and welcomed. Our room was impeccable yet we rarely saw anyone cleaning.

The food service was outstanding in each and every restaurant throughout the ship from the buffet to the main dining room. Food was head and shoulders above the "party ships" with an excellent variety of fish, pasta, steaks, and several specials.

Entertainment was top notch from the lounges to the main showroom. Very talented dancers and the guest performers were vegas quality.

If I have one gripe it was the preferentail treatment offered to suite and penthouse guests. I understand trying to "stroke" the high rollers, but it was sort of a slap in the face to the 90% or more of regular travellers who foot most of the income and fill most of the staterooms on cruise after cruise. Just things like roping off seats in the showroom and telling people "these are reserved for our premier classes," having restaurants just for penthouse guests and a few other things was just rather off putting.

Otherwise the cruise was great, our tablemates were a good match and led to a lot of group gatherings on and offvthe ship.

We are planning a cruise on their newer Solstice class ship in the near future.

Some of the benefits you mentioned are for higher tiers in the loyalty club too which I'm sure you'll achieve if you continue to cruise, RCL, celebrity or Azamara. We love that class of ship too. Glad you enjoyed yourselves.
