Overall it was a wonderful experience. The crew on the boat was fantastic. Difficult to go home and have to cook and clean for the family again, the crew took care of everything.

5th cruise (and 1st Mediterranean cruise)... by vistaville

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Over two years late writing this review...but I decided to write it now just to revisit fond memories of cruises past and to keep the dream of cruising alive for when this pandemic is in the rearview mirror. I still have a couple of more cruises to write reviews for, so if you enjoy reading this one, leave an encouraging comment and I might get around to writing those too. Arrivederci !!!

Great cruise but beware of extras by DonDino

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The staff are without exception, excellent, the ship is in a good state of repair and a nice experience, however the costs of extras are too high, a bottle of water in the minibar approx $6, yes drinks packages are good but if you don’t take one you are likely to be left with a heavy bill, if you want to treat yourself to a little luxury and maybe have a massage be prepared to pay between £100 and £200. excursions are very expensive, private arrangements are much more reasonable. There is a very strong ‘them and us’ feel as ‘guests’ are categorised and if you are big budget Spender the ‘privileges make others feel inferior, class system is outdated and not really what we expect from the U.K. but it is a very ‘American experience’ on board. The food is excellent, however, my wife is vegetarian and the options on the normal menu are VERY limited, (1 vegetarian option out of approx 10 meal choices), however a word with the maitre d resulted in a special meal being prepared each evening, but there really should be no need for that and they could not do enough to accommodate her, but should she need to make an issue in this day and age? Overall a great cruise experience but be wise and plan your options for ports of call and be prepared to be a second class citizen if not a frequent cruiser with the line. ( those comments are not aimed at the general staff who treat all equally, more a policy thing). Personally I prefer the option to tip who I want rather than a hefty (approx) $25 a day charge added

Italy & Adriatic by HeddaGarbled

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The thing I liked most about the cruise was sailing into and out of the ports. How lovely to peep round the curtains first thing in the morning to yet another lovely view and sit in the Sky lounge in the evening with a glass of wine as we sailed away.

It was great! by dsm001

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The staff as a whole made the trip easy and memorable. We always felt welcomed and given all of our food issues - they made them all seem burdenless even for our excursion- and we had many!! We would do it again!

Had a great family holiday BUT tired and overcrowded ship by Merrivalemover

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

I took my wife, adult children and grandchildren on this Med cruise The ship is tired and had too many passengers 2560 compared to the official capacity 2170. No extra staff. Thus service was slow at times and cleanliness in public areas left a little to be desired. Open dining was a nightmare. Fortunately bumped into hotel manager who resolved our issues above and beyond expectations The grandchildren had a ball and loved every minute. Left their parents alone so they could enjoy the cruise TBH I had no expectations so I was not disappointed

Special Trip with Friends by rxcruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Overall was good, but many charges I was not used to. Gelato and specialty coffees were no charge on other lines I have used. Really liked Thelasso therapy pool. Loved it in 2006 when I was on this same ship before.

Wonderful Celebrity Constellation Cruise from Barcelona to Venice by Dedenz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We start from Barcelona. The embarkation went very smoothly. It was no problem for one moment. Everything was good & quick. We just start relaxing from fist moment being on the cruise. The service and staff were excellent. The cabin as expected. Food was great.I recommend San Marko restaurant for dinner. Great service and staff. It is good to book your dinner in advance. The excursion were very good and professional organized. Always start on time and finished. I will be happy to come back again and cruise with Celebrity Constellation.

Barcelona to Venice 9 Night Cruiise by plymouth1943

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

There are no telephone in terminal in Venice. We we found a greeter who was able to contact the hotel and schedule time and pick up location for us. The Port of Venice is very large and may have eight or more large cruise ships in port at one time. We booked two nights at the Crowne Plaza Venice East-Quarto d'Altino. The hotel provides a Cruise Package with Airport and Cruise Port pick up. The hotel sent a Mercedes van to pick us at Parking Lot #3 near the entrance to the port. When we checked out of the hotel at about 9:00 A.M. the hotel had four vans loaded with passengers taken us to the airport in a convoy. The hotel is about twenty miles from the City of Venice and about 10 miles from the airport. There is a train station about 1 1/2 blocks from the hotel that has regularly schedule trains to and from Venice St. Lucia and other stations for about two Euros each way. The water buses can be boarded at the St. Lucia station.

Average at best by swallace86

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We booked with Celebrity because we thought they were supposed to be there be of the better cruise lines. It was avarage at best and the food and beverage operations seem poorly managed. Especially the bars throughout the ship. Celebrity should do a better assessment of the excursion vendors and address the poor tour guides. This was a common complaint when chatting with other travelers aboard ship.

Sailed twice last year on Celebrity constellation both times where fantastic. Great food and service. The ship did look a little bit tired but everything else made up for that. We enjoyed so much we are on the Constellation again in July.

Celebrity does an outstanding job. Constellation is an older and smaller ship but has been renovated to keep up with the modern times. This itinerary was fantastic!

Fabulous 70th Birthday by cjw70

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

This trip was my 70th birthday present, and an itinerary I have been wanting to do for a long time. We were very happy with all of the cruise, but it is a busy itinerary!! There is only 1 sea day, so be prepared to do a lot of walking and be very busy to see all the ports!

Best itinerary we've ever sailed! by RoyalCruzer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Outstanding voyage in which the ports were ideal (see port reviews). We couldn't have been more pleased. The cruise itself from a ship perspective such as cleanliness, service, food and entertainment were excellent. The only negative was the design and layout of the ship. As someone who has taken multiple, multiple cruises, the architect did not do this ship any favors. Primarily the huge, non value added staircase connecting Deck 4 to deck 3 is a waste of space. By having a smaller rounded staircase they could have added an area for some entertainment or perhaps another lounge. While we primarily cruise with RCCL (Diamond +), we will cruise again on Celebrity (Elite) but never again on the Constellation.
