Celebrity Doesn't Disapoint by Loves2travel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

From the moment we checked in and got on board till the time we departed on the final day we were relaxed. When we got on the ship we were greeted with champainge or a mimosa. Then we walked around the ship until we got hungry. After lunch we went to our stateroom and were very happy. Everyone on board was so friendly and it just made it that much more enjoyable. I have done many cruises with Royal Carribean and Celebrity before, but this was my first time going Aqua Class. There were some things I liked and things I didn't like about it though. Lets start off with the things I liked. Having a flexible dinner time was great. You didn't have to worry about wether you had the early or late seating. You could go to Blu which is exclusive to Aqua Class whenever you wanted and if they didn't have a table for you then you could go to the bar and grab a drink or some wine and they would come get you when the table was ready. Also they served breakfast at Blu also. It's really nice not having to wit in the buffet lines for breakfast and dinner and being waited on. The food for the most part was very good. There were a few things we didn't like and the variety I think was different then in the other restaraunt. I didn't look at the other menu so i'm not really sure how different they were except the standard menu at Blu had less choices then the other menu. I do know that much from experience. Although I did order french onion soup and they made it for me even though it wasn't on the menue. Also we ordered off the menu alot for breakfast, but they were always accomidating and made it for us. Those are all the things I liked about the Blu, but one thing I missed was having the same waiter and assistant waiter every night because they usually get to know you and what you like, but having a different waiter all the time it was like starting all over again. That was really the only bad thing I can think of. My girlfriend had never been on a cruise like this one and she didn't mind it as much, but in my opinion she couldn't compare them so she was really happy and didn't know the difference. Another great thing about Aqua Class was you get unlimited use at the spa. I'm not talking massages and stuff like that, but the sauna experience is amazing. The package on our cruise was $179 per couple or $99 per person, but because we were in Aqua Class it was free of charge. The herbal sauna was not very steamy or hot but it was relaxing, the sahara sauna was a very dry sauna with heated stone benches that you relax on, and then there is the turkish sauna which was very steamy and very enjoyable. We never really ventured into the pool area except to lay out in the sun on sea days. At night we would go to the adult only pool though which was very relaxing and the adult only hot tubs were nice not having kids running around. I was not very happy with the camera crew though. We took a lot of pictures and I usually buy pictures, but for some reason when they swiped my card there must have been a mixup because they all didn't pop up on the screen and they lost the ones that I had put together in one spot. So we didn't but any pictures this cruise. I think that I would have enjoyed this cruise a little better if they had done it in reverse though and having a sea day on the last day instead of a port. It's always nice to have a sea day on the last day to relax and then pack up and get ready to depart the next morning instead of being in port all day getting ready and going to dinner and then rushing back to get packed and put your suitcases out by 11:00. All in all this was a great vacation and I can't wait for my next one.

review of cruise by GoldendoodleMom

Once again a wonderful cruise on Celebrity cruise line.  Since I have 2 autoimmune diseases Alex Viorel, Jeane Pierre, Miller & Valentina all kept me safe during the dining periods & without them I probably would have been deathly ill since no one seems to understand about cross contamination when preparing meals for someone with severe celiac disease & Crohn's disease.  Because of them our cruise was perfect.  If there is some way you can recognize these individuals & give them the praise, raise in pay & pins on their name tags indicating what a wonderful service they provide to your clients that would be just wonderful.

As usual Celebrity Cruise Line is now the only cruise line we will cruise on.  Our cabin steward was very good also.  In all the cruises we have taken this is the first time I did not get seasick ( finally medication for Crohn's & scopalamine patch ) did what they were meant to do & I had a great cruise.

Please make sure the people I mentioned above will get recognition for their above & beyond service to make this cruise a great cruise for me & for keeping me from becoming very ill.

Relaxing Short Cruise by Glenpooches

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Ship: Clean and well maintained for an older ship.

Stateroom: Deluxe balcony cabin was small, but servicable. Needed a clock in cabin - the readout on the phone was to small to read and was not lit at night.

Staff and Crew: Excellent, Captain Tasos was the most personable and funny captain we have seen and the staff was very friendly.

Food: For the most part very good, food in the Ocean Liner specialty restaurant was a little disappointing however.

Dining room staff: Excellent, very attentive and ready to fufill any request.

Beverage Service: Fair to good - needed more wait staff around the pool area and more bartenders at peak times.

Entertainment: Good, typical musical lounge acts, trivia, poolside competitions.

Excursions: We did our own - nothing through Celebrity simply because we have been to these ports before.

Outstanding in every respect.  From the initial check-in process, through the entire 5 days of cruising, and the disembarking process, my Husband and I had a wonderful experience.  I can't say enough about the crew, the ship and the cruise line.

Nightmare Cruise by amykiger757

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I was so excited to cruise Celebrity after having cruised Carnival.  I went with a group and we paid extra for the concierge service.  Concierge service?  I guess that was an apple and a pear for 3 people to share for 5 days.  Disappointment!  The balcony rooms were small.  We had to climb over the bed to get to the balcony.  Disappointment.  The head overflowed.  Called to report, came back to the room and the floor was soaked.  Reported again.  That night, the head overflowed.  Reported 3 times before someone came.  Food was awful.  Service lacked.  Not doing this one again.

First Timer at 71 by jackfusco

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my first time on a cruise, and I am 71 years old. I was pleasantly surprised at the organized way it was run for such a large crowd. Ship was very clean, food was just above average, but lots of it. Entertainment was superb and really varied. This was my first, but not my last time on this ship.

Great little get away by heyflorida

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The cruise was delightful. We enjoyed the buffet. The sit down dinner we only went one time and it was not at all up to par. Everyone on this ship went out of their way to make everything great. The staff was really friendly. Always cleaning and keeping the ship in super condition. I was not impressed with the shows, but would not complain about them to much since it was a short trip. I think for a short get away this is a great time. I have been on NCL and Carnival and although the people were older (some) I did enjoy not having so many children around.

Constellation Reviemyw by Jazzbo

Service in cabin and dining room was excellent.   We also enjoyed activities on ship, especially the Liars Club -- I have never seen a Captain participate in such an activity and it was hilarious. It was the first cruise for my sister-in-law and she was truly  impressed.  Unfortunately she left behind a silver ring in our cabin (2107) and is awaiting an answer from Celebrity on whether it was found.  It was the shortest of the 9 cruises I've taken and I was surprised that it included the all the perks of longer cruises.

A 5-Day Get-A-Way by VistaGuy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Wanted to Get-A-Way for few days, shorter schedule than we usually do.  We were disppointed in the overall food except for the Speciality restaurant, Tuscan, which was terrific.  The Entertainment, after the delightful Showtunes and dancers, was below our expectations.  I guess a shorter Cruise may be affected in the actiivities Celebrity can offer.

The overall appearance, cleanliness and staff support/service was very good.  The Thermal Pool and Whirlpools was a plus.

I would travel with Celebrity again; however, I would prefer a longer trip t make additional comaprisons.

Good value, good time by marcyandlarry

Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We hadn't cruised for a few years when we decided to  treat ourselves and try this one. We were pleased with the good food and great entertainment all three nights. There was no dress up night and we didn't miss that. The old style of midnight buffet and encouraging of excessive other food consumption was not there. We were very pleased to see that. The portions served were more reasonable and healthier. All of the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and choices varied. We didn't use the spa dining option. I remember, from the past, annoying boarding and disembarking that seemed chaotic. All was highly organized on this Celebrity cruise and we experienced smooth boarding and disembarking. We enjoyed the veranda  we had as the weather was perfect for the fresh air. The views from the veranda of the land and sea we were leaving were great photo opportunities. I could't ask for anything else and the nice musical and dance opportunities were a bonus in our before or after dinner relaxing times.

3 NIghts Bahamas Crusie on Celebrity Constellation by ISG

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My wife and I and two friends really enjoyed the cruise and thought it offered great value. the food was fine, if not grefat, the entertainment was terrific and the ports were great as well.   The ship si a little smaller, holding about 2,000 passengers. Also becuase there were no days at sea there were more limited options re what to do on the ship if we didn;t want to disembark.  The service was superb in the cabin and the dining room. So all in all a great cruise. What we liked and missed from Carnival and Princess were a deli bar, a self serve soft ice cream, better pizza and a laundry/ironing room.  Small stuff compared to all of the activities and services which were top notch.  Check in and departing were so easy and efficient.

Disappointed by Sharon1225

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We've done 3 cruises on Carnival and one on Royal Carribbean.  This was the first time we've been disappointed.  The ship is older and most public areas are not as elegant as the other ships we've been on.  They seem to put all their attention on the Acqua class at the expense of other passengers.  The food in the main dining room wasn't good.  The prime rib was very tough and the rib eye steak was so thin that it couldn't be cooked any less than medium or medium well.  There wasn't much going on during the day at sea except an art auction.  The main dining room was closed for lunch and all the bars were closed during the day.  That shifted the ship's populaton to the casino, the pool area, and the buffet area.  The buffet was so crowded it was stressful.  The pool area was also stressful.  The pool and deck chairs were crowded right up against each other so that people had to be squeezed against strangers.  It was difficult to get into a deck chair and there was no room between chairs to set drinks and beach bags.

We chose that cruise because the beverage package was thrown in as a perk.  We liked that package.  It was nice to be able to order drinks when we wanted them without having to worry about what the bill would be like at the end.  The fact that they closed all the inside bars except the casino during the day kept the pool bars extremely busy and there was a long wait.  The bartenders were also rushed and stressed.  When my husband and I vacation at resorts, we enjoy sitting at the pool bar and chatting with the bartender.  They had no time to chat and their faces always looked extremely stressed.

The martini bar was fun.  We were only able to get seats there one evening, though.  It's extremely small so only a few people can use it.  Michael's lounge was closed two out of the 4 nights for private parties.  Someone said it was to reward some of the frequent cruisers.  I felt that much of the rewarding of frequent cruisers was done at the expense of the first timers.  Most of the entertainment was good, the room stewards kept the rooms clean, and the staff was friendly.  It was easy getting in and off the ship.  We were greated with champaign.  Our luggage was brought to our rooms quickly.
