Q: Has anyone taken the train to the port the day before boarding in Southampton? Easy? Is National Express better?

A: Just did it the day of my cruise. The only challenge is the lack of luggage storage, but it is doable as long as you don’t have too much. Took about 90 minutes from Waterloo to Southampton.

Q: I was wondering if you can reserve specialty dining ahead of time on this ship? I do not have a dining package and am in a regular balcony cabin. I was able to reserve specialty dining last summer on the Millenium for La Petit Chef but was fortunate to be in the Retreat at that time. Is this still available this year in a regular balcony cabin?

Q: How do you which cabins have a trundle bed? Can you ask for one? We have 2 adults, 2 teens who are male and female and want separate beds.

A: Apparently there no trundle beds on Celebrity Apex. I called to verify.

A: There are trundles on Apex in some of the oceanview cabins, I also called for clients with a 24 year old son. The room has a sofa bed, but they said it pulls out below as a trundle. It’s 6’6” in length

A: Get the free cookies and tarts at Cafe al Bacio. Go to the shows at least half an hour early. The shows are very good and popular. The first night of the cruise , plan to eat dinner after 8pm. The dining rooms are chaotic the first night and you... will get better service after 8pm.See More

Q: Hi hope someone can help with a couple of queries; 1 it looks like there a few different main restaurants. If we have selected a dining time (6.30) do we just turn up at any of the included restaurants and get a table or is there a booking system ? 2 we booked an “all inclusive” packages that has WiFi and drinks package but I now see they are promoting upgrades to premium drinks and upgraded wifi ….are these upgrades worth getting ? Is there a big difference? Thanks

A: We were on the Apex in mid-January. During our cruise in the 4 main dining rooms, we were told there were no reservations. We simply just showed up. We tried all four dining rooms, however we liked Cosmopolitan the best. We dined one night at the spe... cialty steakhouse and it was wonderful.See More

A: I had the same question so I asked the Captains club personnel. He told me that I would be assigned one of the main dinning rooms for the cruise but could change my reservations for any particular night once on board.

A: I’ll try to help….. book your times now for those restaurants…. It’s better than just showing up. When you reserve, you walk right in and if the place you want is popular that day you may be waiting or resort to the buffet… the buffet is good but sup... per options are way less than breakfast and lunch I upgraded ( hopefully) to the premium- it was not originally included and was thinking to cancel the cruise… for a little more got the upgrade. It depends on what you want to drink- I don’t like the run of the mill liquor and you get a lot more options and do not worry over price per drink and up charge from the difference in price of a good drink vs run of the mill. Last year they made an error when I got onboard and a bartender insisted I pay $750 extra! Guest service quickly saw what happened, corrected my choice, and reprimanded the bartenderSee More

A: Blu is wonderful, with its own unique menu plus a set of healthier clean cuisine options. I always laugh when anyone says they get more variety eating in the other four dining rooms. Why? Because you can order anything served in those in Blu! All... menus are on your cruise app or just ask the waiter for all menus you can order from. Sailed on a ten day cruise and never tired of Blu for breakfast and dinner every night. Better service too.See More

Q: What is the easiest way to get from a downtown London hotel to the cruise port? We plan to spend four nights in London prior to the cruise and have noted the package Celebrity offers is very expensive. We would rather do it on our own. We sail on October 23, 2024. We have heard the train is ok but there is no space for your luggage. We know there is bus service from Victoria but has any one used a shuttle company? How expensive? Your experience?

A: Well, we also took the train and there were no luggage racks at all that we saw. But this ok because, racks equals stolen luggage anyway. Keep your luggage with you at all times. Pay extra for first class choose the table seating then stack your l... uggage on your table. Easy to watch. Train people steal.See More

A: National express coach from London Victoria to Southampton and there are taxis directly outside the coach station or depending on how much luggage you have it isn't a long walk from the coach station to the dock gates

A: We took the train from London to South Hampton a few years ago. As you get on the train there were large racks for your luggage. It was a very relaxing and comfortable trip!

A: Most of deck 6, simply because the lifeboats are on deck 5. They are considered obstructions as they block being able to look down.

Q: Hello, we have not been cruising for quite some time and therefore some things are new to us. Do you have to buy a WiFi package to be able to use the Celebrity app on board? We are living in Europe so we will be able to use our phones with WiFi in every port, just not at sea. It seems quite expensive to spend so much money just to use the app. Hope someone knows the answer as I’ve not been able to find information on the site.

A: You can get regular coffee, tea and tap water free in the buffet. At breakfast I believe there are free juices too. But you’d have to pay separately for a specialty coffee, soda, or bottled water.
