Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Western

was very disappointed in this cruise the cabin steward didn't clean the room ordered room service stacked the dishes neatly on the tray and later that even had to remove them myself didn't want to set in the hallway my husband was in a wheelchair. Half the elevators were broken the food was half the time gross we have been on 20 some cruises with carnival they need to change or I will change to a different cruise line. This was an anniversary cruise and they made it turn into a bad anniversary and don't seem to care

Had A Great Vacation!! by jeaninetarver

Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We enjoyed the wide variety food venues offered on this sailing! Had a blast on the skyride. Booking with Japhia was easy and was very knowledgeable and helpful to work with. I would like to recommend my agent to friends and family.

Haste la Vista Flamingos! by britsabrat342

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The Vista is amazing, with stuff for all members of the family and age groups. The food was amazing and the shows and trivia were nice. I just wish the comedy shows were better. It was hard to get into the pools but there was lots of deck space to lay out. The destination ports wwre to die for! I would definitely book that ship and itinerary again!

The Carnival Vista  is a Fabulous cruise ship. This ship has beautiful decor. There is a great variety of food choices. There are many activities you can choice to participate in and the staff are very curious, respectful. helpful, and kind. The cruise Director was great. He was able to engage people who were laid back. He created great excitement with many of the cruisers. The kids activities were great. Sailed April 22, 2017 - Amazing by DebMCrusin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

Our Annual Sisters Vacation and we chose the Carnival VISTA.  It was the best Vacation ever.  The Ship and Crew were exceptional, the Shore Excursions were FUN.  Mike the Cruise Director was Amazing!!  There is so much to do on this Ship.  We loved the Sky Ride, it was worth the wait!!  Our favorite part of the ship was the Serenity Deck!!  Spent Sea Days on the Serenity Deck, the Bar and the Salad Bar were Great.  Plenty of Seating and Hot Tubs were nice.  Love our Cabin Steward (Cabin 2405), he knew our names from day one and always had a smile and a 'Good Morning or Good Evening" for us.  We had a balcony room and loved being able to sit out on the balcony in the morning to watch the sun rise or in the evening to watch the sun set.  We are looking forward to our next Carnival Cruise in March 2018!!

Beautiful Ship! by js1961

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This ship is huge!   The only time it was congested was when waiting for the Comedy Club and getting off and on the ship.  I stayed in the Havana Cabana room, so I didn't have to hunt for a beach chair on deck during sea days.  There is plenty to keep you busy.  The sky rider was a little scary being so high!  The ports were amazing!  Booked excursions at each port from Carnival and they were easy to find and not over crowded and enjoyable; except for the Jeep in Aruba, but that was our driver and when we were dropped off at the beach, we had access to a beach chair for $7 (for 30 minutes).  So we chose not to purchase them.  We did the Sunset Cruise that was amazing!  We were at the beach for a while and was provided with chairs and a drink.  The employees work hard to make sure that you have an amazing time!

Worst Cruise I ever been on by glovfy277

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was the worst cruise I have ever been on and I have been on several.  The ship itself was beautiful. Most of the staff was friendly but some made it se like you were bothering them. Our stateroom attend entered our room a very short time after we got on the ship and our luggage was delivered to our cabinet and unpacked. We were not sure why he was in our room so early into the  cruise as it was too early to turn down the beds and we had only been on the ship maybe 2 hours. Also every thing me we saw him working he was on his phone on personal calls the whole thing me we were on the ship. Very unprofessional. The first night I purchased a Spa treatment for that evening and one for the next morning.  After receiving myseaweed wrap massage treatment I awoke at about 3 am with my skin on fire and huge red rash all over my chest and neck. At 7:30 - 8 am I contacted the spa and told them if my reaction and that I needed to cancel my other appointment because my doctor advised me not to get any other treatments. I was met with the reply that I could not have possible had a reaction to their treatment, that it was too bad I still needed to pay for the treatment I was not allowed to have by my doctor. I went to guest services and after a long debate the called the spa and got them to not charge me for the service I was canceling due to my allegorical reaction. Not once was I offered any type of treatment , luckily I carry my own epi- pen and medicine because I am hypersensitive to many things. The Spa manager was very rude and in caring and did not offer anything back due to the failed treatment. I even contacted Carnival when I returned home, they offered me nothing for my bad treatment on their ship except the phone number to the Spa owner who still has yet to return my call.  By the third day of the cruise I was over it and ready to return home but I had 5 more days to go.  During my trip me on the ship I saw other people experiencing other negative treatment on the ship. One lady had a disagreement with her mate and was severely manhandled by security in front of the other guess. I don't see myself taking another Cruise on Carnival Cruise line because they don't seem to value their customers. If you want a good cruise try another cruise line.Angry

WE HAD A GREAT TIME by johnaubrey

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The food and dining was awesome, the wait staff was very attentive and professional. We would absolutely book with them again. We loved Curacao and Aruba the best out of the 4 ports that we visited. if we had any complaints it would be that the food , although it tasted fine it was not always hot. Mainly the breakfast dining which most days the toast, bagels and Pancakes and waffles were just barely warm.

Fun Ship! by roxxi2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The best part about this cruise is that someone besides myself makes the bed and fixes and serves my food!!  But other than that... the Fun Squad led by Mike the Cruise Director is awesome.  They are full of energy and make all guests feel personally welcome.  The formal dining room staff are just as friendly.  The shows were very entertaining, and more impressive that the same staff were involved in all 4 different shows.  That's a lot of choreography to learn!

For my personal preferences...the bed in my ocean view cabin was too firm for me...although the bedding was perfect.  The selection of food on the breakfast buffet did not vary; and even if I was too choose the formal dining room for breakfast..there was little variance.  The selection of food choices the rest of the day was excellent with several choices of venues to choose from.  I thought the bbq place was out of this world, and wished it was open all days ..not just on the sea days.

Getting on and off the ship was a very streamlined process..easiest I've encountered yet.

For all the negative things I read about the Vista before going... I am glad I chose to ignore them and just went into the vacation with an open mind and excitement...it did not disappoint me.

FANTASTIC family vacation! by Cruiser90454721

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We found the Vista to have so many offerings - dining, entertainment, etc. - that we couldn't do it all on a 6-night cruise!  Despite mediocre weather all week, we had NO PROBLEM finding plenty to enjoy onboard and onshore.  We love the new boat and found the Family Harbor to meet our needs perfectly (traveling w/ a 6yr old).  The free Night Owls admission, free kids' specialty dining and the Family Harbor Lounge are wonderful perks that more than make up for being on deck 2 (which actually was extremely convenient after all!)  We took advantage of several specialty dining venues (Seafood Shack, Fahrenheit 555 and Cucina el Capitano) and found the quality to be exceptional and completely worth the small surcharge.  Enjoyed the western Caribbean ports of call, the onboard shows/ dive in movies, waterpark and pool areas, sports deck w/ ropes course, Sky Ride and mini golf...even visited the Thrill Theater TWICE my daughter loved it so much (as did we!).  WELL DONE Carnival - the atmosphere and decor of the individual spaces were distinct and realistic (Havana Bar, Red Frog Pub and Brewery, etc.) and we had some great customer service experiences!  We'll be back - soon we hope!Love

Carnival Vista by cbpfromtn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We enjoyed our cruise, along with cruise "buddies" we go with every time.  We had a great time, even though I will say, the Vista is definitely at the top of our list of favorite Carnival ships.  We sailed at capacity (4900) and this ship was just not equipped to handle the amount of people who sailed on this cruise.  The lines were extremely long with no place to walk as you passed the lines.  About as bad as it gets and we've been on 10 different Carnival ships.

That being said, the food was great, best we've had on any of the ships even though the desserts are pretty bad.  The chocolate melting cake is good but after years of eating it, it would be nice to have some new offerings that aren't, well.......very good.  Desserts is definitely an area that needs dramatic improvement.

Our room was like all Carnival ships, excellent.  Our cabin steward was excellent as well, very friendly and polite and exceptionally adept at keeping our cabin in pristine condition.

Also, our server in the dining room, her name was Singsoong is the best we have ever had!  She and her crew were just great and rarely made a mistake.  Always called us by name, whether in the dining room or on the Lido deck. Always had a smile on her face.  Best in the business!

All in all, we had a good time, but again, this ship, when at capacity is not comfortable.

The smaller ships, (Freedom, Liberty, Conquest) are our favorite ships. They were built with comfort in mind and the public areas are accommodating to the amount of people onboard. All ships we've sailed on have been sold out so the Vista just doesn't cut it when it comes to public areas.

Mixed feelibgs by solakeo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ports were good.  I chose this cruise due to its itinerary and being a new ship.

I also liked the sky areas aboard the ship (Sky Ride, Sky Fitness), and outdoor movies.

it was nice to have the IMAX theater (although didn't don't use).

the water park was nice, serenity area a good getaway from kids.

good comedy shows.

the food was very sub-par, especially breakfast.

specialty area foods was better (note:  I tried the seafood shack -

lobster roll and it was pretty bad).

the selection of liquor was pretty sub-par; not well stocked on premium spirits-very sub par selection.

specialty coffee area was excellent with excellent service.

service otherwise so so.

sleeping bedding was comfortable.

tour selection was poor.

Excellent Family Vacation by MarcMarc

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Recently took 8 day Eastern Caribbean trip and had a great time aboard the Carnival Vista.  There are so many things to do on board and all the staff is very friendly.  One thing I will recommend is that you book any specialty restaurants, Shore Excursions and Spa Treatments in advance as we found all the exciting excursions and all good times were booked up fast. The highlight of the trip was how happy my 7 year old daughter was with the water slides and pools and she loved Camp Carnival and asked if she could go back to camp allowing plenty of relaxing time for my wife and I.  We had a great time, especially in St. Martin where the beaches were crystal clear and the people and infrastructure on the island were nice and inviting.  As a repeat cruiser, this was definitely one of the nicest ships I've been on.  Can't wait until our next cruise!

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The staff was amazing from the house keeping, dinning staff, even the fun crew. The Cruise director Mike was OUTSTANDING, every friendly, kind and fun of energy. Also, Java Joe from the coffee bar was so friendly, he made me welcome everytime we i came by, i.e, remembering my husband and myself name. Overall experience was great!

I was very impressed by the cruise director, Mike , who is always energetic to lead every major events and show.

The service from Horizon restaurant is great.

I was also impressed by Gramm Philip, the guitar singer, who brought us the wonderful nights on the ship.

Great amenities by Taylor2017

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

My favorite amenities on the ship were the IMAX theatre, the big screen by the pool, and the various restaurants. The food was good and plentiful. The kids enjoyed the basketball court and outside workout equipment.

New but lacking by Rhyssey20

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Vista is huge and gorgeous but they definately cut corners to squeeze in as many people as possible. We stayed for a 6 day to jamaica, grand cayman & cozumel. The spa is a huge dissapointment. Same with the spa level and serentity. The waterslides line with tons of kids and noise is on the same level just steps away from the relaxing serenity area making for a noisy less relaxful area. There were 20 min waits in lines for breakfast on dembarkment days. Room 12202 is wedged between 2 housekeeping closets and is VERY noisy all night long. It also required moving the bed in order to access the balcony...very awkward. Housekeeping comes in 2-3xa day and each time they moved the bed again so that we couldnt access the balcony and required us moving it back. We ended up just putting out the do not disturb door hanger for the last 3 days. There is NEVER an open loumge chair. Ever!  Glad i had a balcony.  Went out early to save a seat on day 4 since i hadnt been able to score a chair before then, and went back to get my daughter ready and came back to everything gone. There is a 15minute rule and the staff removes your items and places them at the towel station. Uggh.. never got a chance to lay out and soak up the sun anywhere but my balcony. We had in room

television issues and was delivered melted chocolate covered strawberries. Just irritating nuisances but didnt reck our trip as its still a vacation!   Blue iguana has the best food!

Carnival Vista Cruise - 4/2/17 by DawnLemay

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cruise itself was amazing and the Vista is a beautiful ship but there were way too many unsupervised children running wild on the ship.

There did not seem to be any adult supervision on the majority of the children.  I saw unattended children in the pool and hot tubs, at the restaurants with no adults, running up and down the hallways, playing in the elevators etc. It sounded like a heard of elephants were in the room above mine.

The Vista has some design flaws.  The Liquid lounge has too many obstacles for viewing the stage performances.  I sat down in the third row on stage left and could barely see over the seat in front of me.  We moved 2 rows up and the seats sat higher.  Some parts of the ship were decorated and other hallways were stark white and very boring.  The new check in was the quickest we ever got on the ship.  The same for getting off the ship.

I still enjoyed my cruise who wouldn't but Carnival needs to come up with a different plan when there are 1700 children 17 and under running the ship.
