Review summary

The cruise itself was amazing and the Vista is a beautiful ship but there were way too many unsupervised children running wild on the ship.

There did not seem to be any adult supervision on the majority of the children.  I saw unattended children in the pool and hot tubs, at the restaurants with no adults, running up and down the hallways, playing in the elevators etc. It sounded like a heard of elephants were in the room above mine.

The Vista has some design flaws.  The Liquid lounge has too many obstacles for viewing the stage performances.  I sat down in the third row on stage left and could barely see over the seat in front of me.  We moved 2 rows up and the seats sat higher.  Some parts of the ship were decorated and other hallways were stark white and very boring.  The new check in was the quickest we ever got on the ship.  The same for getting off the ship.

I still enjoyed my cruise who wouldn't but Carnival needs to come up with a different plan when there are 1700 children 17 and under running the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Ate at many of the specialty restaurants which were great. Thought the dinning room food while it was ok, I felt the standards had been lower.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Wasn't impressed

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Enjoyed the dive in movie. Love and Marriage show was good. Didn't do much of the other things because the venues were not able to hold the amount of people on this ship

Children's Programs

1 out of 5
What children programs? All I saw were children everywhere without supervision

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
ALL the crew members I encounter were polite and friendly always asking if we needed anything

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was clean and the design on some of the areas were great others very plain

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Thought there was less storage space for the suitcases but we survived. Room was kept clean and neat the whole trip. There were several nights that my wife or I were later leaving our cabin and the cabin steward was gracious and did our room up later

Ship tip

Be prepared to walk long distances to events if your cabin is forward. Everything happens in the aft. Also check the school schedules and don't sail during holidays unless you have children

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

5 out of 5
Traffic is too wild for me

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

5 out of 5
Found the people to be very gracious and thanked us for coming to their country and spending our time and money

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
It was ok but there were 4 other ships in port at the same time - very crowded

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Worth every dime you spend to go to Mr. Sancho's. We paid $100 per person for the private cabana with massage. It was nice to be able to go into the pool or ocean and know you had your place to go back to to eat and sunbath

I agree completely, this was not a very good cruise.

I don't think parents on a cruise think they have to watch their kids. Things happen on cruise ships, just the same as on land. Do they let their kids run wild in a strange city? No! So, parents...PLEASE keep an eye on your little ones!

I really feel bad for you having to deal with that
