Review summary

Recently took 8 day Eastern Caribbean trip and had a great time aboard the Carnival Vista. There are so many things to do on board and all the staff is very friendly. One thing I will recommend is that you book any specialty restaurants, Shore Excursions and Spa Treatments in advance as we found all the exciting excursions and all good times were booked up fast. The highlight of the trip was how happy my 7 year old daughter was with the water slides and pools and she loved Camp Carnival and asked if she could go back to camp allowing plenty of relaxing time for my wife and I. We had a great time, especially in St. Martin where the beaches were crystal clear and the people and infrastructure on the island were nice and inviting. As a repeat cruiser, this was definitely one of the nicest ships I've been on. Can't wait until our next cruise!

We had great food in the Main Dining Room and were able to sample different items if we weren't sure. We were disappointed that some of the specialty restaurants we wanted to try were booked at all the hours we wanted to have dinner. Even still we were not disappointed with the quality of the food and the rotating menu in the main dining room.

I was not sure our daughter (7yo) would want to be left alone in camp while we were on vacation, but soon she was asking to go back so she could play with the friends she made on board. She had a great time and always brought back lots of goodies and crafts that she had made on board.

As with most boats, the cabin felt a little cramped for 3 people, but the staff would always come to make the room up as soon as we entered and left so it always felt tidy. I appreciate the balcony as it is a great place to sit and watch the ocean and gives you a little fresh air from the cramped space. Once you go balcony, you will never go back it just makes the cabin feel so much larger than it really is.

We are doing the same cruise leaving Jan 27th, 2018. Thanks for the info. Doing some research on the ports to see the surroundings. We have 5 going, 3 teens and wife & I.

I too loved the Vista. I was on the 11 day cruise out of NY. It was a different type of ship. I already booked the Carnival Horizon for 2018. It is literally being built as we speak !!!ð³
