Review summary

The only things that I can say that we were impressed with was our cabin staff, our wait staff and the bartender, Gabriel, at the Alchemy Bar on the ship.  The ship was way understaff for the size of the ship - there was not enough staff to go around to clean up on the open decks to pick up the bar glasses to keep the teenagers from stealing them.  Security had to be beefed up to try to keep the teenagers under control the whole week - the were raising havoc through out the decks banging on doors waking people up, stealing signs, running up and down stairs while knocking people over and running through the ship through the night (I can vouch for the fact that a group of 12 was up at 4 AM running around) - where is the curfew that use to be in place years ago.  The show lounge was small and didn't have that great of view in lots of areas.  My husband and I will stick with the small ships from now on and will try to plan our cruises better around when the schools in Florida is not on break at the same time.

Really don't care about this since I don't have kids and don't travel with any.

Our cabin staff was wonderful. Never had to really ask for anything because they were on top on things. Just wish that they had more storage space (cabinet) so I didn't have to use a over the door storage holder.

Ship tip

If you have Your Time Dining - don't be in a hurry to head down to the dining room because you have to go down to the Blue Java Café 15 minutes (with your whole group) before you want to eat in order to check in to get your table and be prepared for a line that will go along the Photo Studio area.

We just got off the Vista Sunday and we were not impressed at all. We thought Gabriel was a wicked jerk. I asked him for a chocolate martini one night and he spent 10 mins telling me that wasn't what I wanted. When I said forget it and started to leave he changed his tune. The next night the same thing! We stopped going there. It used to be one of our favorite stops before dinner. The aft pool was filled with unruly kids and no one seemed to know where the parents were! I'll save my money and go on a smaller ship next time.

all the kids take over the pools and hot tubs and turn them all into piss soup on every cruise

Spring Break=whole load of kids...made that mistake once, never again. Carnival can't control kids running around, blame the lack of parenting. Hell last year I was on the Pride and there were 12 year olds in the hot tub eating ice cream and security never said a word

I have never known a curfew on Carnival. But, maybe I just don't remember. I know RC does. I agree twangster.

It's not just Florida schools, lots of people fly on their kids breaks. Unfortunately I think the issue with kids running amuck starts at home and it's expecting a lot thinking the cruise line can police and control kids when their families stopped doing so long before the cruise started.
