Family cruise, one of our best! by anastasia3939

12 night Southern Caribbean Journeys cruise. The ship was one of our favorites. Great layout, lots of private places. The inside stateroom was roomy. We traveled as a family of four; mom, dad, adult daughter and 12 year old son. Every one of us labeled this as either our second or third favorite cruise of all time (we all have between 10-14 cruises under our belts). We tend to book for itinerary and like to sail out of the northeast so we can avoid flying. Dominica and St. Lucia are our favorite islands ❤️

Almost Perfect Cruise Except for 1 Really Bad Thing by gmat910

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Venezia

Covid is the nasty secret of cruising. This is the 2nd time I have gotten covid on a cruise. The first was a Royal Caribbean cruise to Alaska in 2022. Luckily, this time was different. RC did nothing for us even though we were sick as dogs from covid. Carnival did everything in their power to make my quarantine comfortable and stress free. Plus, they gave me a cruise credit of my fare for the days spent in my cabin. A nice thing was that they allowed me to order on my cruise card, gift shop souvenirs and pictures and delivered them to my stateroom. Since I had a balcony cabin I didn't feel claustrophobic. Carnival had its medical staff visit me twice during the quarantine and were extremely compassionate and kind. Unfortunately, so many people on my sailing had covid, were coughing and sneezing and failed to say anything. This kind of behavior is selfish. Even though the US government has declared that covid is over...it is not. It is pure wishful thinking that if we just pretend this awful virus will just disappear. Cruiselines: shame on you for not doing more to prevent the spread of covid. This 2nd bout is making me rethink whether cruising is safe. Plus, there is nothing worse than returning from vacation and having to take more time off with covid. The reimbursed cruise fare does not compensate for the hassles this caused. It is just GREED that has caused the cruise industry to stop doing any sort of health screening to keep this kind of menace off of the ships. This would have been an almost perfect review for the Venezia, but for the fact that I got covid at the end of the cruise.

Carnival Venezia out on NYC in February by Tony5608

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Venezia

I really enjoyed the ship. The main pool and pool area was covered and heated which made it usable even in cold weather. I loved the decor. It was brighter than a typical Carnival ship. The entire trip was effected by the bad weather and rough sea conditions. Just a bit unlucky this trip. The Entertainment Squad worked hard to keep everyone entertained.

Wonderful New 🚢 by kountra

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Venezia

Very nice design. New ship has a lot of options for eating. Hot tubs was over crowded. It’s different from most of the cruises I been on but. Just think outside the box and enjoy. I love the Ocean so I could sail on a bottle top and be happy.

A Step In The Right Direction by CruiseQueenNH

Good but could still use some improvements. Water slides on the ship could use more water pressure as I got stuck on all 3 slides and got bruised.

A completely different experience than you’d expect from carnival. by bluefishboy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Venezia

We booked the Venezia, excited to have another NYC cruise option. We were excited because carnival had been billing this as a new ship with new features. First off, it is NOT a new ship. It is an old Costa cruise lines ship that was refurbished. Everything on board was like brand new, everything clean, everything functional! (even the hot tubs which if you’ve ever been on a carnival cruise, you know they are never fully functional). That being said, the layout was just off. The lido deck is really disjointed. The activity areas on deck 15 were closed for 6 of our 8 days due to wind, which I get…you can’t control weather…but the layout of the areas made them unsafe, not the wind itself. And the serenity hot tubs are exactly that…bathtubs, not even seating in them to sit. You had grown adults all standing holding their drinks.

Very Good Cruise Overall by tomyoung

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Venezia

Second cruise on Carnival Venezia. As good or even slightly better than first. We knew the layout, knew the elevator system, knew the food we wanted to eat. Elevators are great if used correctly. There are pods by the elevator. You simply push the floor u want once for each person. That is key. It will give you an elevator letter. You stand there and wait for your elevator. Pretty simple yet for some very difficult. Casino was a premier party and in the end it was worth it. They lied about Drink PKG as it was only in the Casino. However they perks otherwise we're beyond expectations. So I immediately took 600.00 out of my gambling money and bought my drinks for 9 days.

Sadly Disappointing by pomalesfamily95

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Venezia

I do not think we will do a holiday cruise again, it barely felt like Christmas on board, and the cruisers were rude and unruly. The cigarette and the smell of weed were always present. Food was horrible and 80% of the staff was not happy to be there. This just did not hit like it should have. Did we have a good time in spite, of course? We had to laugh off the horrible service and it became a joke to see just how terrible the next meal would be.
