Review summary
We would still recommend this ship simply because if you're going for Relaxation, this is the way to go. Don't expect much from shows, shopping, photo taking on the ship. Do expect to be spoiled by the Stateroom attendant, Main dining room, Waiters, Servers, the buffet employees and most of the all the Chef. They will not disappoint you. Those who entertained with their music will be a great joy. We appreciate all that wore their mask to keep many of us and themselves safe. Thank you Spirit.Embarkation

Food and Dining
Our ships main dining was 5 star excellent. Rameril, Made, Adjit was awesome. They made dinner fun, entertaining. The team leader Rameril taught us how to use our Iphone to scan the menu for the night. He also showed us how to use the Hub app for the carnival We utilized it throughout our trip. We looked forward to going to dinner every night. The food
was delicious. Our chef was amazing. Our favorite food was the Vegetarian Indian cuisine. The magician Suryil always made us wonder how he did what he did. He was good.
The food at the buffet was also great. The workers there always greeted us with smiles and cleaned our tables and made sure we had enough food and drinks and ice and fruits. Yum yum. Those that worked with food and drink My group stands up and shout "thank you" for making our trip "wonderful, great, tremendous"
Onboard Activities
None that interest us. All the ship cared about was for us to shop which was not worth our time. But what we did do was walk up and down forward and backwards on deck 2,3,10.
Entertainment
The musicians are unreplaceable. They were the saving grace! Their talents made us want to listen to them all night. It was hard to decide which one we should go and listen to. Just to sit back and listen to violin music, listen to guitars and voices they sang, made our evening a joy. We went to one comedy and said no more, but we went again and came out spitting mad because it was vulgar and we should have known better because it did say it was rated R.
Service and Staff
Joko was our stateroom attendant and we would come back into our room to find it cleaned and fresh. His animal towels always made us smile. Our favorite was the monkey. He is a keeper. He is worth our telling our friends about the reason they should use Carnival Spirit. The waiters in our main dining, can't say enough. We loved the music to dance to at dinner time. Team leader Rameril, Made, and Adjit memorized our names, talked one on one with us, helped us choose dishes that we normally wouldn't consider but after eating we wanted more. Our table was always ready for us. They already knew what we liked on the second day. The were fantastic. When our friends asked how our trip was, we told them about Joko, Rameril, Made and Adjit. They made our trip memorable.
The ships Guest Service desk NEEDs a lot of work. We understand the ship personnel, waiters, room stewards work "long hours" and hard work but rudeness is not called for at the guest service desk. We already feel funny asking questions. The least they could do was look at us instead of their computer while we're talking to them. For this reason, Service & Staff gets only

Ship Quality
Our deck 8 floor was always clean. The Lido deck was designed so that we had to walk around to find desserts, fruits, salads, which gave us a great excuse to meet people and talk to others and the interesting views of the ocean at different parts of Lido deck. The common areas was clean and well maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
Loved the mattress and pillows and blankets. The bathroom was uniquely designed to fit shower and toilet. LOVED the toilet and shower head. The temperature was easy to fit our comfort. Our most loved was the balcony. We will always book extended balcony on every trip we make on carnival from now on. We are not tired talking about Joko our stateroom attendant. Thank you Joko for being our attendant, keeping our room clean, looking after our comfort. Major kudos to you.

Ports of call
embarkment was awful, disorganized, people yelling at us, dropping off passengers to board was crazy. All those that was in charge did not know what they were doing. One would say come here another would pull you and say not there you need to come into this line. Just crazy.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska
The people that greeted us at this port was so nice. The port itself was clean and it made our excursion great. They answered any questions we asked about icy point. We enjoyed walking. The shuttle back and forth was fun. The drivers made sure we saw Eagles and their nest. We hardly knew anything about Eagles until we went to Icy Point. The lifts was scary because it would not stop, you had to get on and off while it was moving but they were there to keep us safe and helped us not to be afraid. After all that we can't stop talking about Icy Point. we loved it. we're so glad we got off the ship and took advantage of their great town and people.
We used Trail of '98 Tours owned by Thomas and Michele Strand for our excursion. Lots of pictures taken. Beautiful town. We learned so much about Skagway from our tour guide Thomas. Got on my "Whats Up" group and told them about our cruise ship and the tour at Skagway. Another beautiful town and the people amazing. Thank you Skagway
So much to do and shopping was great. My number one excursion was the whale watching. We used Alaska Tales and Captain Sarah, Taz and Olive made sure we were safe the ship was clean most important, we saw Whales, Killer Whales and Sea Lions. We were so excited. Our group was thrilled that as I'm typing this I can still feel the excitement we had on the Alaska Tales. We gave their card to our best friends and told them to go to get on the Carnival Spirit and go Juneau and do Alaska Tales. Got on my "whats up" group and told them about Alaska Tales. Oh yeah, people need to know who they are because the were the Best!
Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska
Not fair - because this is one town that we wanted to stay longer. So question, why did we spend the time on the Fjord instead of Ketchikan. There were so much to do not enough time to do the excursions. We finally realize that the quickest one was the Lumberjacks No disappointment there. They were so much fun and engaging. The shopping was amazing.
Just not enough time.
After all we went through to get on the Carnival Spirit to have our passports ready and not even get off the ship - at 8:00pm at night.
