Amazing time of relaxation by lpate3

The Carnival Pride is an amazing vessel and the crew and staff were absolutely impeccable!!  The steward, Mackenzie, was a delight!!   It was a wonderful experience..  The cruise director, Donkey, did an amazing job of keeping everyone abreast of the schedule for the day with the many different activities!!  I truly enjoyed my stay.

Christmas Cruise? by leiah7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We booked a family Christmas cruise on the Carnival Pride anticipating a wonderful experience for all of the family.  I had worked for a cruise ship company in the past and had fond memories of holiday season on board - a time where we appreciated our passengers' choice to sail with us during the holidays. Not so Carnival Pride.  Many of the staff were unfriendly - they warmed toward the middle of the cruise, but the damage was done.  The ship seemed to have forgotten that we were celebrating Christmas - there were few decorations (only in the atrium) and the staff seemed unaware that the holidays were coming.  Food was only edible in the dining room - the buffet was laden with greasy foods (especially at breakfast) and few choices.

While the cruise did improve at around day 3 - we will never sail on the Pride again.

A captain that I once sailed with said that clients chose to sail with us during the holidays and that it was our job to make their vacation as memorable an experience as possible.  Carnival Pride succeeded in giving a memorable experience but not in the way we expected.  I am unsure whether the lack of decor and holiday themed events is a Carnival standard, but if we ever cruise at Christmas again - Carnival will not be on our short listt of cruise companies.

The Coldest Cruise Ever by talia610

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The boat was cold, the food sucked, and the amount of time we stayed in Freeport was a joke. The pizza was nasty, the drinks were weak, it smelled horrible on top deck.

Not what I expected...but we made it work by sherristewart67

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Disappointed in the quality of food as well as the ship is noticeably older. I'm glad my family and friends know how to have a good time in spite of.  This was the most expensive cruise I have taken and was disappointed. Will take Carnival from Florida from now on.

A nice getwaway by shekelltravel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We had a nice trip on the Pride. The ports were relatively warm and a welcome change to our daily routine of work, packing & cleaning to move, etc. The American Menu is not our favorite so we may eat on the Lido from this point forward

This was my first ever cruise and it was a great experience! From the convenience of everything that's included to the care and pride that everyone takes in making it a great vacation for all is second to none. I will definitely be cruising again with Carnival. Thank you for making my first cruise such a wonderful experience!

Bahamas Cruise on Carnival...the only way to go! by jmorrow907

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We had the best time ever!  This was our first cruise.  The cabin steward, Rommel, was so very gracious, attentive, and helpful.  He was always so nice and cheerful and took such good care of us.  Our 2 waiters, Neal and Fernando, at dinner and the Maître D made dinner an occasion we looked forward to every night.  The best part was the musical dancing numbers the waiters did 3 or 4 times at dinner during the cruise.  The comedy shows, magic show, and musicals were unbelievable!  We must have seen 12 comedy shows.  The hamburgers and toppings were to die for!

The food was so good.  And the Serenity deck where you had to be over 18, was very nice.  I loved the padded chairs and little cabanas.

unhappy travelor by jmiller6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

when we arrived our ship was 4 hours late causing our faster to fun to be void. this made me upset . then we didnt see our cabin attendant till day 4 . after requesting him . so i didnt have towel animals or robes till then . also i was quarenteed for 24 hrs due to being motion sick . when dining in main dining hall we were asked to leave not once but twice due to my goddaughter squealing freminder shes 13 months and has autism . after the second time i was very upset and went to management . the daycare would have been nice however the staff didnt even aproach my son until after he had made himself throw up due to crying for a long period of time. they need better trained!!!!! this happened twice. the only time i could use daycare is when i paid and put my son to sleep and told staff to please not touch him and let him sleep . which is completely rediculous . i wasnt even offered a refund for the babysitting because of the issues. overall i will nOT cruise with carnival again i will choose somewhere. else . hopefully will be able to compensate for the issues and make this customer happy.

Wonderful Experience by rjcarson30

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Xueli and I were very pleased with our first cruise and extremely satisfied with choosing Carnival as our provider. The over-all service, from booking to departure from Baltimore was well planned and surpassed our expectations. The cabin arrangements were adequate and there were ample opportunities to enjoy the cuisine provided by the staff.

Our only suggestions would be to provide "Fore" and "Aft" signs at the elevators to help guide the passengers. And, we would have enjoyed dancing sessions for the over 60 crowd with music from the 40s and 50s.- less rock and roll and more easy listening tunes.

Thank you for your assistance and happy sailing for future cruises with Carnival!

Robert and Xueli Carson

Carnival Pride 7 night Bahamas & Florida by acdb1410

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was our first cruise. We had a great time and really enjoyed the cruise ship staff. They made our days at sea very enjoyable. Cruise excursions were great. Spending time with the Dolphins was a great experience as well as the private beach in Freedom.

First cruise by kessler2458

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was our first cruise and we're very excited, however it started off on the wrong foot.. Our cruise was delayed 7 hours because of late arrival due to weather.

That is 7 hours we lost out on cruise ship, would have been nice to receive some type of compensation for the delay, on board credit or something.

Then we got off ship in the USA and were told all we needed was our sail and sign card, not passport. Well when we went back to board, security gave us a rough time because we did not have passport with us.

Overall cruise was nice just not sure if we would go on carnival again, thought they compensate you for lost time, considering the amount of money you pay for cruise.

Carnival Pride 12/6-13 by jdetti1977

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was my second time aboard the Pride. The cruise and the accommodations were all to my satisfaction, but I was disappointed in the food choices this time around. The eggs tasted fishy and mushy EVERY morning, which was unfortunate for me because that's really the only breakfast food I like.  Dinner in the dining room was always delicious, but there didn't seem to be a lot of options for entrees. Everyone says to take a cruise because of the food, but the food wasn't all that fabulous, as far as I'm concerned.

Nice Budget cruise by Oleander138

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The Carnival Pride is a nice ship that lacks many of the extra touches that other cruise lines provide.  Things to do on the ship were minimal unless you enjoy trivia and bingo.  Sadly the casino is a smoking area therefore we were unable to enjoy that part of the cruise.  The food is good but not excellent and only typical buffet type choices.  The Main dining room food was a step up but lacked a lot of variety. We had the our time dining so had no personal service by the wait staff and felt pretty much any other restaurant on the mainland.  The entertainment on this ship felt amateur and not at all what I have experienced on previous cruises.  The choreography was not together and just didn't feel like a professional production. We loved our suite and the size was perfect for 3 people with lots of storage space and the balcony was fabulous. Our room steward, Dominique was wonderful and enjoyed his towel animals each evening.  We did enjoy ourself as we were looking for a relaxing vacation so the lack of things to do was OK but would have been disappointed had we been going for first class entertainment and dining.

Awesome vacation at Cardinal Pride! by teresamontesa

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I have already endorsed to colleagues of mine and they have booked for December. Everyday there is something different to - enjoy, listen, watch, revel, and laugh about. Carnival Pride lived up to it's name of a Fun Ship. Thanks to all the crew (Filipinos rock!) and the entertainment folks, Donkey Salazar and the very talented performers!

Review by srlowden

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Staff A+++ especially wait staff in Normandie and room stewards!!

Suggestions:  softer toilet paper & facial tissue

Add pies & fudge to dessert menu (Mermaid's Grille). Add wind break to door into Mermaid's Grille from outside.  (Brrrrrr-cold wind blew in every time it opened.) Add activities for older crowd, such as songs from 30s/40s/50s. Stagger evening shows so the late dinner crowd doesn't miss any.
