Very disappointed by sarge2smoke

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I have to say I cruised with Carnival before and was very disappointed this time. They were very unorganized with boarding which was delayed by 2 hours.  The rooms were small the bathrooms were horrible in the staterooms. The food in Gerald was ok. Nit

what I experienced the last time on Carnival. They cleaned the carpets in the halls on our floor an it smelled so bad it was horrible. I had let a glass in the far night stand and it was there for 3 days. The towels we're dingy. Overall I was not very pleased. I may try Carnival again but definitely not this sip

First Time Cruiser by kimcook47080676

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Not so sure I would go on a cruise so soon again.  The cruise to Port Canaveral is WAY to long.  I was ready to jump off the boat by Wednesday(LOL) I wouldn't go back to any of the Bahama islands.  I don't like the pan-handling as soon as you get off the ship, it really put me in a mood.  Weather was beautiful though, ship was nice, didn't like that there was a lot of "extra" paying things to do on the boat....like playing Bingo, that really should be included in the price.

Very good experience by sharonadams401

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Overall, I enjoyed the cruise.  I'm a first time "cruiser" so things did occur that were unbeknownst to me.  I'm sure if I had read more of the fine print in the contract, I wouldn't have been caught off guard.  Our steward Rery was wonderful; she did an excellent job.  Most of the crew were pleasant; however, the food servers were a bit rude.  This might be attributed to the language barrier but many did not smile or acknowledge me when I said "thank you" to them.  I will say the cruise director, Steve, was ABSOUTELY WONDERFUL!!!! I enjoyed him and the entertainment team tremendously! My one complaint was the embarkation process.  The ship was delayed by 2 hours, which is not Carnival's fault; however, there were only two elderly people who were checking passports and ids.  This made the line terribly long, we spent 2 hours in line waiting to board the ship.  You may want to consider adding additional and quicker identification checkers to your staff.  Outside of that, I'm looking forward to my next cruise.

Very good service and great food but a lot of sales pitches and overpriced excursions by bloomsburgsobo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My husband and I, our daughter and her three children were on the cruise - it was a first for all of us.  I was pleasantly surprised by the very high quality of the food, by the cleanliness and attractiveness of the ship, and the reasonably comfortable cabin. For the price, I think all those rate 5 stars.  On the negative side, the pools were tiny and the adult one was closed for repair. The Carnival is known as the best ship for kids but the programs seemed a bit limp.  Then the price of the excursions were a shock.  They ran about $80 a person just to go to a beach with lunch - for us that was a $400 bill - and there were no good alternatives.  Coco beach is not even as nice as Virginia Beach where we live.

Nassau was interesting but no beach at all and Freeport was also disappointing.  It was our fault for not realizing that the piers would not necessarily be in a good location.  My granddaughter and I did a sail and snorkeling on a catamaran for $60 each and that was a good experience although quite a bit shorter than the promised 3.5 hours. Plus - no lunch even though the sail was from 11:30 to 1:30.  My granddaughter is diabetic - I would not have taken her on it if I'd known we wouldn't even get a sandwich or cookie.

We're still debating whether we would do it again or whether we would prefer to fly somewhere and rent somewhere for a week.

Great Cruise, Great Staff by talialynn

Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My husband and I had a blast on the Carnival Pride. We booked this cruise for our anniversary trip. We loved our restaurant staff. We loved our stateroom steward. I was so sad to leave the boat. Can't wait for the next cruise.

Family Cruise on Carnival Pride by stacy334

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Great memories made for a fun family vacation.  Enjoyed zip lining in Florida, swimming with the dolphins in Nassau and snorkeling on Rainbow Reef in Freeport.  Freeport has been hit hard by hurricanes, but the people were grateful to have us visit!

Think twice by denisejackson2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

If you are for around the clock partying, then this cruise is for you.  Lots of children running around.  One of the pool was not operational which made it more crowded everywhere else.  Taxes on everything even when you purchase the Cheers package.

Third time a charm by pammyjanec734

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My third cruise with Carnival.  Last two cruises were with Norwegian and Celebrity.

The food was much, much better on the Carnival Pride and much better than on my previous Carnival cruises!  Don't understand why the Prides food was better than other Carnival ships with a higher rating!  Staff was wonderful in all areas but especially in the dining room. Boarding the ship in Baltimore was a little dicey.  Disembarking seemed never ending and worked the opposite of any other of the twenty-five cruises I have been on in many different countries. The ship itself is in great condition. Only used the buffet for lunch.  Sometimes hard to find a seat.  If I had a complaint it would be that some areas around the ship were very smoky.  Lots of smokers on this cruise.

Problems by callie64

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My family of six, enjoyed the cruise. However, we had a problem with guest services. My children, ages, 17, 18, 21, 27, didn't have charging privileges on my card. So we went to guest services and were told that they could put money on their ship and sail card. This way, they could purchase coffee and other things not included. We did this, immediately, their cards showed a minus balance. They didn't explain that when money was put on these cards, that the gratuity for the whole trip would be deducted from that card as well. Even when we went to guest services for an explanation, this wasn't mentioned. Needless to say, I had to put more money on the cards to make up the difference, and it kept on being deducted. It did take away the fun for them and me, because it was embarrassing to put money on a card, attempt to use it, and have the staff tell you there was money available.

Amazing Cruise by el3eal

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Favorite parts of the cruise: Food, Staff, Other Cruisers, Entertainment, Activities. Alll were so amazing. This ship provided so much fun on the ship everyday and I was never bored on ship. I will admit, the places we visited were a bit disappointing. Going to Port canavral florida was not needed and see no reason to go there.

Relaxing cruise for me and my family despite the weather by fmiles10029

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Overall I was satisfied, wasn't my first time cruising so I knew what to expect. I knew that Hurricane Mathew destroyed Freeport and we wouldn't of been able to go there so an extra day in Freeport would of been great instead of 5 days at sea but that doesn't take away from my overall experience.

Embarkation was different than any other time that I cruised. My check in time was 11a-11:30a and by 11:30a we had our room key in hand for them to have us sit in the waiting area for an hour before they started boarding... If the boat wasn't going to be ready they could change embarkation times to 12:30p because it really isn't a long tedious process to get on the boat.

Last thing I will say is that waiting until 6a the morning you arrive back at port to hand out liquor isn't a good idea. A better system should be put in place for that, you already know what room ordered what a delivery would be more feasible because many people are preparing their families to exit the boat. They wasn't even ready until 6:15a and although I gained an extra hour on that final night I lost two hours.

Great Cruise! by Cruiser8970106

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We had a great time on this cruise. The food was great, the service was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. There was so many things to do on the ship. Great shows, games, karaoke, swimming, casino, etc. and our cruise director Steve was the best! He had so much positive energy, he kept everyone in a nice festive and party mood. A lot of people were dressed for Halloween, and there were so many funny and cute costumes. Met lots of very nice people on the ship. The bus tour in Nassau was great, our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the island, and was upbeat and never boring. We did not get a chance to see Freeport, because of Hurricane Matthew so we had an extra day at sea. We would recommend this cruise.Happy

Bahama Cruise by deborahwallace

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The whole total experience was so awesome!!! I can't say enough about the amazing time I had. So much to see, so much to do.... ate way too much (the food was awesome!)  and I can't say enough about the crew. So very friendly and helped. Can't wait to go again! The only downside was when we were waiting to debark, too many decks and zones were called at the same time... the backlog of people trying to get down the stairwells really slowed things up. But all in all a terrific experience and I highly recommend that if you should get the chance to go, do it... you won't regret it. Big Smile

Great Halloween cruise by Traveler86

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My favorite part was the food and the movies after dinner.  My least favorite part was sharing the table with people I didn't know.  The activities needed to be a little bit more creative and interesting.
