Review summary

Overall, I enjoyed the cruise.  I'm a first time "cruiser" so things did occur that were unbeknownst to me.  I'm sure if I had read more of the fine print in the contract, I wouldn't have been caught off guard.  Our steward Rery was wonderful; she did an excellent job.  Most of the crew were pleasant; however, the food servers were a bit rude.  This might be attributed to the language barrier but many did not smile or acknowledge me when I said "thank you" to them.  I will say the cruise director, Steve, was ABSOUTELY WONDERFUL!!!! I enjoyed him and the entertainment team tremendously! My one complaint was the embarkation process.  The ship was delayed by 2 hours, which is not Carnival's fault; however, there were only two elderly people who were checking passports and ids.  This made the line terribly long, we spent 2 hours in line waiting to board the ship.  You may want to consider adding additional and quicker identification checkers to your staff.  Outside of that, I'm looking forward to my next cruise.
