Awesome trip. by kidwellsusan50

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Everything about the cruise was a 10. People were so nice and helpful. Loved Salfie she was great and the comic shows were awesome. The only thing was the gift shop only went up to a 2x. Need to get some bigger sizes. Also Ms June was awesome. We loved her. Can't wait for our next cruise.

Review of cruise to Grand Turk - half moon cay and Freeport by khenson4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was by far the best cruise we have ever taken- the accommodations were spacious and the balcony certainly added to the room - the food choices on the Lido deck were fantastic as were the options for a set down dinner in the Normandie .  The shows never dissapointed us - and that included those in Taj ma Hal and comedy club.  Excursion options were great - although a bit pricing depending upon what u wanted to do .  The time allowed on the excursions were a little tight - except for the full day allowed on half moon cay.  And service on and off the boat was great .  Can't wait to go again .

Awesome trip! by lisaanderson636

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip!  The staff were very friendly and attentive.  We had a couple that weren't but the others far exceeded our expectations so it sorta made up for it.  The boarding process was very easy and quicker than we had anticipated!  The disembarkation was frustrating because of everyone needing to find a place to stand and wait but we managed.  Otherwise, we had a fabulous time and can't wait to book again!

1st cruise & celebration by kmcf1706

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Our favorite part of the trip was spending time together with friends and family that came along with us. We were expecting better quality food day to day. The best meals we had were the Chef's Table & David's Steakhouse. Those are extra of course and they should be better but we were disappointed in the lido deck dining with the exception of Guy's Burgers. We could have eaten at Guy's everyday but that is not making any healthy choices all week. The staff was pleasent enough though communication was an issue at times. Our cabin steward Ni was awesome. Very frustrating trying to get off the ship the morning we arrived home. Four hours.....really??!!. Their explanations are nonsense. Carnival doesn't want to pay more than 4 customs agents to process the debarkation is my guess. They certainly had enough people to process us on thd ship!! Carnival also did not honor the Cheers package as we purchased it. Tried to talk with the food & beverage manager twice but he was always too busy. Ridiculous! Well maybe we found out cruising isn't our thing or maybe cruising with Carnival isn't. Either way it will be a while before we cruise again. The private island half moon cay was awesome!

My Review by rwsitton100usa

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My favorite part of the cruise was Half Moon Cay. The beaches there are incredible. The water there is incredible. The dining experience was also wonderful. I like the fact that you are keeping the dining room somewhat formal with two (2) nights designated as formal nights.

Carnival Cares by peacekelly

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

There are a few things that stand out about our cruise.  The first is the wonderful portrait that was taken of my husband and I by Ivana, one of the ship's photographers.  It is better than any of our wedding photos (shhhh...don't my wedding photographer. lol)! The second is that Carnival does care about the well being of their guests.  Unfortunately, one of our excursions had to be canceled due to rough waters at our last port.  I imagine that was quite a financial loss for Carnival.  I was happy to see them put our safety ahead of profit for that day.  My only negative is that the Carnival Pride is an older ship and is in need of some repairs and cosmetic improvements.

Great staff horrible Taj Mahal shows. by rjshawk

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The Carnival Pride was a great ship.  We really enjoyed the dining room experience with our waiter Charlie.  Also our cabin steward Carlos was excellent.  We would have liked to have spent more time in the casino but the smoke was so thick we could not even get near the place.  Smoking in the casino should be banned the smoke was awful.  The shows in the Taj Mahal were not entertaining at all.  A lot of lip sinking and just ok choreographed dancing.  Hardly any props.  The show room was only about 1/4 the way full every night because it was so bad.  The comedians were great, there wasn't enough room for everyone to sit in Butterflies, maybe they should perform in the Taj Mahal.

Carnival 7 Night Eastern Caribbean cruise review by FamilyCruise7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Overall a fun experience.  The most fun was an independent excursion around Grand Turk on ATVs.  Unfortunately, due to weather our snorkeling excursion was canceled.  Half Moon Cay was a fun time for all!

Somewhat of a smaller vessel, little engagement opportunities for singles.

Would have preferred some additional staple food choices.

Accommodations were comfortable and our cabin steward was excellent, as well as our ballroom waiter.

Too much sales activity going on, yet this seems to be the new way of the land when cruising.  Would also prefer some extended time in ports.

More focus on young adults activities as well as meet & greet opportunities would have been preferred.

Chair hogging is an issue on all cruise lines, something more efficient needs to be put in place so that all passengers have an opportunity to lounge by the pool areas.

All in all, we had a good time and I would recommend if you're looking for an affordable vacation opportunity.

Never again by sarver5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We were so excited to take our very first cruise for our 30th wedding anniversary. Imagine our disappointment when food was left laying on the edges, only to be swept behind pillars, bathrooms were dirty and pieces of the ship were missing. We saved and paid a lot of money to be able to have this experience and have a wonderful anniversary.  Disappointed doesn't even begin to describe it. Attached is a picture of the outside of the ship with a piece of the roof missing.  I can't imagine ever wanting to cruise again, let alone on a carnival ship.  The Carnival Pride is nothing to be "Proud" of.

Balcony Room by bztripping

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Good entertainment.  OK food.  Balcony rooms are spacious and comfortable.  Terrible check in process took over an hour and half.  Stopped at Grand Turk, Half Moon and Freeport.  Freeport was terrible, would much rather gone to another beachy island, Grand Turk and Half Moon were beautiful.

1st time cruiser by greenwithenvyco

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My favorite part was the unconditional attention from all the crew. It was nice to feel spoiled. I would only recommend that the debarkation process be changed. Instead of having us leave our staterooms by 9am and crowd the hall and Taj Mahal, maybe we could sit in our staterooms and wait to be called by Deck. This will free up the elevators and hallways. And I would most definitely recommend this cruise to others, matter of fact we are already looking at our next cruise.

Amazing......food, service, ammenties, shows, Islands, exursions........ by tracypatriots99

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was mine and my daughters first cruise ever.  I think leaving from Baltimore is to long for us out to sea.  We both got sick, and we still can't shake the rocking of our bodies/head, 3 days later.  Of course Carnival can't control this.  This was an amazing experience.  Loved everything about it.  The food is unbelievable.  Authentic, and delicious.  Entertainment was great.  Cruise employees - host/hostess - just amazing.  They go way above and beyond.

What can I say about the Islands......just amazing. Beaches, food, service - outstanding.  Oh did I forget the shopping, lol.  Our tour guides in Turk on our Stingray and snorkeling excursion, all 3 of them were fabulous.  Patient with all of us.  Entertained the kids.  I will do this again, but out of Florida so I don't have to spend so much time on the boat.  Even though I did enjoy my boat time, relaxing, dancing, swimming, etc, I just couldn't shake the motion sickness.  You live and learn, next time, I'll have medicine, patch, bracelet or something for this.  Truly enjoyed meeting people from other areas, and countries.  Love

Food is okay by maryjyaya

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I would recommend not using Carnival Cruise Line.  We went on the Pride out of Baltimore, MD, the line to get into the terminal wrapped around the corner of the building.  I didn't expect having to stand outside for hours just to get in the building.

The food on the boat was unimpressive, we cook better food at home.  I asked for extra salad dressing at the Normandie sit down restaurant and was told no, it's all premixed.

I did enjoy Guy's Burgers.

Are destinations Grand Turk and Half Moon Cay were awesome.  Freeport, Bahamas a huge disappointment, they are still recovering from hurricanes  (1 from 8 mts ago, 1 from 2004).

Ivars at Shore Excursion desk on the Pride has a terrible customer service attitude. He sold us 4 bus tickets last minute to tour the island, spent $144 to see run down buildings and hotels that are falling down.  When we spoke to him he said you got what you paid for.  They shouldn't be selling this tour, I saw plenty of this driving through New York and New Jersey for free.

Amazing!! by jprayoung

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We loved everything about our cruise.  The crew members on Carnival Pride know the meaning of giving "great" customer service!  They were all very friendly and helpful; always smiling.  From the time we booked our cruise until we got off the ship everyone was extremely helpful!  Looking forward to booking another cruise!

This was our second cruise on Carnival.  It was an excellent experience.  The entertainment was very good.  The variety of experiences was also very good.  The stateroom was very comfortable and the staff very attentive.  The meals were good with a good selection of options.

April 9-16 2017 out of Baltimore by bpkirmes

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Cabins, activities, grill food were all great. The food in the main dining room was substandard. Food arrived at room temperature and was incredibly slow. We were the first seated at 8:15 and always the last to leave! The waitstaff and maitre d were incredible, but could not make up for the inconsistencies of the kitchen. Problem with people saving seats in serenity area early, but not actually showing up to occupy the seats for hours. Staff did not monitor this closely enough

2016 Carnival Cruise by Cruiser26349899

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Our family loves cruising! We have been on the Pride before. It seems as though their standards have changed a bit. Staff seemed as though they were not sincere in their customer service. (as if they were just going through the motions) Of course there were those fabulous employees on board. Which we gratefully appreciated. No one offered to take our pictures. Ever. (Except when boarding the ship and leaving at the islands.) Rarely, if ever, while seated, did anyone ask us if we wanted drinks. I found this very unusual. In dinning room it was easier to go to the bar and get our drink rather than wait for it to come to the table. We did not have a bad vacation at all, however, it did not offer the feeling of luxury or being pampered as on many of our other cruises.
