Review summary

We were so excited to take our very first cruise for our 30th wedding anniversary. Imagine our disappointment when food was left laying on the edges, only to be swept behind pillars, bathrooms were dirty and pieces of the ship were missing. We saved and paid a lot of money to be able to have this experience and have a wonderful anniversary. Disappointed doesn't even begin to describe it. Attached is a picture of the outside of the ship with a piece of the roof missing. I can't imagine ever wanting to cruise again, let alone on a carnival ship. The Carnival Pride is nothing to be "Proud" of.

I am so sorry you had a bad experience, especially on your first cruise. Do know that Carnival is a great cruise line, as are Royal Caribbean, and Princess. Yes, there are others, but I've only experienced these three. Please, unless you simply did not enjoy cruising, try another one. Ships, staff, amenities, activities vary. I would have a problem with any ship (or hotel for that matter) that is unkempt, and poorly maintained. Or that has staff with poor customer service. I've sailed the Pride, but it was several years ago; of course it was much newer. I truly loved the ship, as well as our itinerary. I wish you could have enjoyed something from your much anticipated vacation and celebration. I am sorry that your anniversary cruise was disappointing. I do applaud you for reaching 30 years of marriage! Now THAT is something memorable! May you enjoy many more together!

I wonder if you were in that cruise. Because there was a ship next to her that took pictures. Either way it's cosmetic and as long as she floats . Runs and I find my stateroom after 1 drink then I'm good lol

I cruised the pride several times and loved it every time we went. Sorry of your misfortune however everyone views things differently perhaps maybe cause this was your first cruise maybe it was not for you! Cruising is not for everyone

We were on the pride in October and our experience was totally the opposite. It was my first cruise and my boyfriends 9th and we both had an great time. The ship was clean, and in good condition. The staff was awesome. I couldn't have asked for better.

First, belated Happy Anniversary.ðð»ð Now, I looked at your picture and I think they may have been doing some maintenance. We were on a Princess cruise where they had to remove part of our ceiling for access. They did this with our knowledge and while we were in port. We sailed the Pride in 2015 and we enjoyed ourselves so much, as usual. We are booked on our 3rd Carnival cruise for February. We can't wait!!! ð³ï¸ððï¸âï¸

We took our family on the Pride in October. We had no problems. Ship was beautiful and extremely clean. The staff was outstanding. It was our 47th anniversary and our oldest daughter's 17th. We received champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in our rooms. The diningroom staff were so sweet to our four grandsons, ages 8 to 14. Since we had such a large group, they were seated at their own table. What a wonderful experience for them! They continue to talk about all the different foods they tried. I hope you will not let your negative experience stop you from trying again. We leave in October for Panama canal. Counting the days.

It is always good to do your homework before picking a cruise. Ships are all ages and you can find out the age and when it has been refurbished. Going on one cruise and giving up is like falling in love and getting hurt and saying never again!

doesn't even show they even went on a cruise I'm on vacation I could care less how something looks I'm hardly in our room just to sleep and shower is about it we were deverted last year to Canada even though we're 30 min from Canada we still had a great time where else can u go and get waited on bed made dinners cooked and different shows for a week

Happy Anniversary. The missing flashing on the ship was likely blown off in a storm. Carnival could have cancelled the next cruises until fixed or because it was only cosmetic, sail on tillâ they had parts and time to fix it. Yes passengers leave dishes in a odd places and in peak times the staff has a hard time keeping up. They sometimes stage dishes in out of view places like behind pillers until they can get a cart to bus them but they do work hard. These glitches occur on any line and I can't imagine how they could disappoint anyone. I would say cruising may not be for you but I see you hated the islands also so maybe there are bigger issues. anyone.

Sorry about that. This site is full of cruise-a-holics and want great cruising for everyone, especially first time cruisers. We ourselves are Royal Caribbean fans but if you try another cruise line, don't go on their older ships. With most older vessels, a ship's age might show through. Happy Anniversary though!

I'm sorry to hear about this bad experience. like everyone else said, Don't give up on cruising and maybe give Carnival another try. They have 25 other ships with a whole different staff . Ive been on 4 cruises with them and the ships that I was on were beautiful and well taken care of. Again, I'm sorry to hear about your bad experience. Happy 30th anniversary, nonetheless!

so sorry, I hate to hear of disappointment particularly for a special occasion. but if you can make it thru 30 years of marriage you can give cruising another try...maybe on princess. very sorry about this experience

I sailed on that ship in 2014, and it was wonderful and I didn't see the problems you did. I hope you reported it because this is unacceptable for sure. Don't give up, try Royal Caribbean next time, they are a good cruiseline.
