Review summary

My biggest complaint with Carnival is the food. The quantity and quality are both lacking. Unless you want an ok pizza everyday, there are no options from 3-6 pm. So in other words when you board the ship around 4 everyday you cannot get a decent meal for another two hours (decent is a generous description). My daughter is a very picky eater but she looooves tacos. She was beyond excited to learn that there was a taco bar and vowed to eat there everyday. Because they close at 2:30 everyday she was only able to eat there once on a sea day and hated it, no ground beef for tacos?!?!?!?!

My second complaint with Carnival is the lack of entertainment. However, the few shows that they did provide were pretty good. This is certainly not a family oriented cruise as I would estimate the vast majority of passengers were between 50-70. There were 42 passengers under the age of 21 on our cruise.

We have been on both Royal Caribbean and NCL and would highly recommend either over Carnival!

I don't know how long it's been since you've been on RCI and Norwegian. Carnival's food is much, much better. If you go off the ship for a long time you either eat out or eat lighter until supper. There is no shortage of food on Carnival. Shouldn't your kids be in school? Otherwise they are adults and have to eat like adults.  Carnival's shows are much better than the others too.

I took my 5 yr old during the summer and he was more then entertained and having a picky eater you should def plan accordingly!

what a stupid, uneducated post! kids should be in school..hence only a handful under 21 being onboard. moron

On the New Years cruise, I had no issues with the food. Plenty of quantity and I enjoyed the quality. I think your lack of diverse ages may have to do with the time of year you cruised. My 12 year old son and 16 year old daughter had huge groups of new friends. Probably the week you traveled changed your experience. We had a nice time.

how can anyone have "no options" to eat on a cruise?? holy cow! our biggest problems are picking WHAT to eat and trying to not OVEREAT!! lol

I was on Pride on 11/2015. Your statement is true. Between those hours you stuck with burgers/ pizza/ or sandwich rm service. The taco bar was great. I did get to eat it 4 times. I would bring a plate and get it on that instead of the wrap.

When did you go? We usually go in June, you know when kids are out of school for the summer and there's lots of kids. We have no kids and our next cruise is in March. It will be interesting to see the different demographic.
