Not going to Bermuda by paduke

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Magic

Everything was fine for us except debarkation put a big damper on a relaxing vacation. MDR needs a menu overhaul. The food lacked taste and tiny portions. The specialty restaurants were spot on

Cruise was diverted to Bahamas by Shell004

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Magic

Cruise itself was amazing. Half Moon Cay was perfect. We do not like the Bahama's so we avoid cruises with Bahamas as a port. We feel that the non-refundable money back was not in proportion to the cost of the Bermuda ports versus the Bahama ports.

This was our first cruise - even with change in itinerary due to a hurricane, it was fabulous!! by cristilawton

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Magic

Our cruise was supposed to be to Bermuda, but because of Hurricane Franklin, we got an email the day before that the itinerary had changed to the Bahamas. We were disappointed, but this was our first cruise and we hadn't been to the Bahamas, so we just made the best of it. Can't control the weather! We were pleasantly surprised at how easy and fun the cruise was. It is vacation made simple. We travel a lot, and it usually involves a ton of planning -- this was a piece of cake in comparison. Never had to worry about what to eat, where to go, etc. So, as a result, we felt like it was pretty relaxing. Not exactly an immersive experience, as we visited three different places over three days, but it was still good. The weather was good -- and the fact that we were dodging Hurricane Franklin and Hurricane Idalia and had sunny days every day is a testament to being flexible and skirting bad weather elsewhere. The ship did rock a bit coming back, but it was nothing too crazy. And, I think our cruise was less full since people canceled with the itinerary change, so that probably made our cruise more enjoyable in that things were never too crowded at the restraurants, buffets, pool, getting lounge chairs was easy etc. It was a silver lining...

misadventure with carnival by hudginsjodi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Magic

Although you cannot control the weather, you should have offered even a partial voucher for a future cruise. After a 7+ hour drive from Georgia, we would have taken the voucher and gone somewhere else for our vacation. If we wanted to go to Nassau, we could have gone out of Charleston only two hours from home. Nassau was the last choice we would have made.

Another Wonderful Cruise! by Cruiser84389718

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Magic

We just had another wonderful cruise vacation arranged by our travel advisor Vivian Webb! As usual, she covered every detail and used her vast knowledge to make sure we had all of the information we needed, and that we had all our bases covered; she made sure we received all benefits and perks available and checked on us right before and after the trip. She's the best! This Carnival cruise was excellent. The food was high quality, the ship was clean and the staff super friendly. This was cruise #36 and we were not disappointed!

Great Time by Sandy123123

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Magic

Our family of 4 had a great time overall. The food was better quality than last summer on the Legend. There was always plenty of food to pick from, including a large variety of fresh fruit and veggies. The ship was extremely clean and all employees were friendly. My room steward, Rahman, did an excellent job of cleaning while I went to breakfast every morning. MDR waiters (Christy, Arianna, and Shalsa) were all friendly and got food out quickly. I was a little bummed only 2 out of the 8 days had a singing/dancing show in the evenings. The rest of the nights were paid Deal or No Deal. I was also disappointed tea time was only 2 of the 4 sea days. There were long lines for everything and people everywhere. Our family did get sick with covid, but I'm not blaming Carnival. We knew a sickness was possible with so many people around.

Carnival is the FUN cruise ship by ricefamily40956

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Magic

Thoroughly enjoyed our cruise. CARNIVAL truly has the FUN ships. We wouldn’t change a thing on the ship, except for the CHAT app and elevator speed (an escalator would be convenient, if possible).

Great Cruise by rncristie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Magic

Bimini is a great beach day! Started out raining but who cares you’re at the beach! Used the free beach right by the pier. Get out there early though, it can get crowded! Our 4th trip to Nassau. Just walked around the shops. Don’t buy from the first vendor/shop you go into! Shop around, prices go down the further you are from the docks. We didn’t get off in Freeport. Didn’t appear to be anything to do near the docks, looked very industrial.

It was great other than a bit of lack-of-communication between the ship and one of the ports by andreaesaunders

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Magic

Overall it was an okay trip. Some things could have been better. Maybe my expectations were too high but i was a little disappointed. For the amount of money I paid for this trip, I didnt feel like it was necessarily worth it. My mom went on this same cruise a few years ago for a fraction of the cost and it sounds like she had a better time. I am hoping now that I have a bit of experience with a cruise ship and how they are laid out, i might have more fun next time and be more willing to participate in some of the different activities offered on board. And now i know to keep an eye out for discounted tickets and to make sure to check what destination we are going to and whether it is rainy season. Definitely a learning experience.

Overall, a great value vacation! by raufone

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Magic

Overall good, except that Carnival was not clear about how to carry on our allowed two bottles of wine. They should be more explicit about the allowed wine and beverage policy. Food was great, especially, in the main dining room. Even though it was worth the wait, the BBQ lines were too long. The burgers were great. The charge for alcoholic beverages was excessive relative to our experience with other cruise lines. As if the prices of the drinks were not already high enough, Carnival added a service on top of it.
