Dream Vacation by Princess55

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

I would have to say; when it comes to having my friends and family with me I would be happy doing anything, but thanks to Carnival Legend and its entire staff, my vacation went from wonderful to absolutely perfect! The ship itself was an absolute dream, filled with fun faces, wonderful staff and lots of entertainment. There was never a dull moment while on the ship. Everywhere you went there was something going on, someone to see or something to do. My husband and I ended up going to the same place every night after dinner, but that’s only because we loved it there so much. Billy’s bar (piano bar). It was a great time and Bruce made every second we were there amazing. He filled the room with fun and joy. The next best thing was my eating experience on the ship. The food was amazing. I was always able to find something that I thought I would enjoy, and I always did. The presentation in itself was beautiful and the flavor was unbeatable. The drinks were also made to perfection. They were worth the amount you paid for them and tasted great. One last thing I need to rave about is the staff on the ship. They all were so friendly and helpful at all times. They made our stay so much more enjoyable because of everything that they did for us. I have to say that this trip was the best trip I have ever been on and I have been on many, many vacations. Thank you Carnival Legend for everything you did!

Fantastic cruise. by letsgoagain

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We did our first cruise a year ago to the Caribbean. We were exceptionally pleased with the cruise on Carnival Valor and with the service we received in booking the cruise with cruise.com. Very simply if it is not broken why try to fix it so we went the same path on this cruise. I could find nothing wrong on our first cruise and can honestly say that the European cruise was even better. We had one problem when our shore excursion in Rome was cancelled at t6he last moment. The girl at on duty at customer service was rude and very unhelpful. (Cruise desk was closed). After complaining in the morning, matter was resolved and apologies (with discount and bottle of champaign). We would certainly use cruise.com for our next booking and preference to Carnival Lines.

Great way to see so many places by auntshell

The 12 day Mediterranean cruise was a great vacation and a wonderful way to see Europe. It was a very fast pace though so be sure to prepare yourself for a lot of go, go, go! The ship was fun and the food was too good! I've been on five cruises prior to this, three different cruise lines and this ship was by far the best. We had an exceptional time. My only complaint is the cost of the wifi. That was more expensive than I've paid on other cruises.

The Carnival staff provided the highest quality service we could have ever dreamed of. They helped make this the experience of a lifetime. The dinner staff and room steward service as well as the friendly photographers made everyday wonderful.

cruise of your dreams by relaxedcruiser

Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

great cruise - loved the staff and the ports. we were a bit tired from all the excursions, but how could one ignore those ports of a lifetime! we had a slight problem with lounge chairs on the days at sea and wish that more could be provided, although i got help from a supervisor when chairs were abandoned more than 45 min. we also had a slight problem - on two occasions - with the air in our cabin. there was an odor similar to paint - and we complained to guest services who claimed nothing was going on. my husband is knowledgable in this field and he thought that there was painting going on near a vent.

This was the cruise for the ages, ancient cities, beautiful Villages, and wonderful culture. We saw treasures in Italy, beautiful areas in the mountains of Spain, France and the seaside Villages of Serrento. Carnival Legend was very nice ship with excellent food, great entertainment, and superb service.

Old Legend by raye38

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Legend is an old ship, expected nicer accomodations for a balcony stateroom. Carpets were old, ceiling over balcony had peeling paint and rust, several corridors had missing ceiling panels and buckets under them for the leaks. Food quality was not as good as previous cruises. Dining staff was good, service fast and attentive waiters......Juan and Maja were great, Jose needs to practice his customer service skills, don't think he said 10 words entire 12 days, Wahyu, cabin steward was tremendous......great service, any request was done immediately.

Ports are great..ship/entertainment just ol by Peachesissweet

Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Overall if you are looking for a 65+ years of age cruise, lackluster food, entertainment and an annoying cruise director then choose this. All the stops and shore excursions were great. Personally I would not do this cruise again with Carnival but maybe another cruise line.

GO, you will be glad you did!! by dak

Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Transatlantic

this was a much needed escape!! we opted to turn off phones, leave computers behind, and just relax and enjoy ourselves and each other--we were not disappointed! although there were plenty of options to stay connected via internet and phones, we did not--knowing if we were really needed, there were ways to be contacted. there were days we did not leave the stateroom--we enjoyed room service. my husband read shogun aloud to me cover to cover--we finished the book in 9 days and had the remaining week still to enjoy exploring the ship more. we met some wonderful people in the common areas that i hope we cruise with again later. the casino was fun--and the machines not quite as tight as i expected (based on previous cruise ship casinos). i do wish that since a players benefit is free drinks after a certain amount of play that the casino would provide more staff at they point that many of the players achieved this---this caused a good deal of irritability for both the players and the staff that was unnecessary---if it is not a benefit you wish to offer--then don't--but don't advertise this and then make it difficult....no need. the ship was immaculate--staff was constantly cleaning and shining--i really appreciate this. the spa services were adequate, expensive, but adequate. the morning stretch is usually my favorite way to start the day--but it was so crowded that i gave up going after three days--i did hear that they moved to another spot that was larger finally, but i did not go back to find out. the size of the ship is perfect--large enough to be able to move around, but small enough to feel cozy and generate meeting people. i would suggest that anyone can enjoy a trip like this one---make it what they need it to be. i highly recommend it--my only regret was that we did not continue on the 12 day med trip that was next!!

Disappointed by BradSmith

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I was very disappointed with my cruise, specifically the service and dinning room. This was a last minute cruise for us and we pick Carnival despite the recent troubles. When we first arrived everything seemed fine, with a very helpful staff. However, after the second day on board we had to ask that our room be cleaned. We could never find our room attendant and I had to track down a manger to ask that it be cleaned. This went on for four days, I will say room cleaning did get better the last two days of our trip. As for the dinning room the service here was below the standards of a Ryan's steak house and the food was not much better. One night our table ordered drinks the waiter brought the half of the order and never came back. After about 20 minutes of waiting, through the started and after the main course was brought to our table, i went and got the rest of our drinks from the bar myself. The food was sub par at best in the dinning room. For example I ordered a prime rib one night and to say that i had better prime rib at Ryan's is doing Ryan's a disservice. Because of the service and food quality we ate most nights at the buffet and generally the buffet food was at least on par with Ryan's if not a little better. And I will say that we ate at the on board steak house one night the food and service there was outstanding the way your whole ship should be and what i expect. Now my views may be taken as just a bad trip and exception to the other guest. But I can tell you that the lack of service was begin talked about by other guest. It seemed that about half of the people we talked to had the same experience. Some had outstanding service will others could not get there room cleaned

Fun time on the Carnival Legend by ScottA7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

10th cruise for us....7th on Carnival. We were concerned as 3 days before our cruise we received an email stating they had changed the itinerary due to engine problems. Everything went off without a hitch. In our opinion, Carnival does a great job. The food was excellent and the accommodations were great. Major improvement from earlier Carnival Cruises....no annoying announcements over the intercom 24/7...no harassing you for drink orders as soon as you sit down anywhere...they obviously listen to customer feedback. For the price, we have no complaints....every Carnival cruise we have been on has been great....and the staff has always been great. Highly recommended!!!!

The Curse of the Carnival Legend by tberekoff

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I totally understand that our ship had propulsion issues and the Captain was very precautious in making his decision to cancel 2 of our ports. Our cruise was still up to excellent standards and all the ammenities and staff were superb. I also appreciate that the Captain added Costa Maya to our visits when not able to reach Belize. But, I am disappointed in Carnival. This is one of 4 ships in the past month that has had issues...3 just last week. Although we received a $100 on board credit each, an opportunity to take a future cruise at 50% off (details are very sketchy and not provided when we inquired at guest services), and a free glass of champagne at one dinner, Carnival is still benefitting by this. By missing 2 ports and having an extra day at sea, guests spent more money in the gift shop, in the casino, and at the bars! Also, return guests at 50% off will still contribute to additional revenue for Carnival by enticing guests to take another cruise with them even if they may have chosen something else next year. I work hard as a single parent and save up before our vacations and I choose the ships based on ports and attractions. I did not get to Belize City nor Grand Cayman. Last year, I specifically chose Valor 8 day to attend Nassau so we could go to Atlantis. Due to a medical emergancy the night before and turning back towards Turks and Caicos to air lift a passenger off, our visit to Nassau was cut short and our excursion to Atlantis refunded. I understand that this was an emergency however, this is 2 years in a row that I did not receive what I initially planned and paid for.

Still Love Carnival but hope they might go back to a better experience by VIPFCarnival

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Carnival is still loaded with a great group of people! they are pretty awesome overall. I have been spoiled from my first cruise and some after but little by little some of the best Cruise experiences have dissappeared! I am sure some are money saving endeavors that I understand but maybe for a few dollars more we could see other things! Miss the Grand Buffet! 10% OFF ON DRINKS as opposed to free cocktails on captains party!. Gordata the Waitress at the Golden Fleece was fantastic!!!!!! She is a major asset! Domingo was the best room steward since our 1st cruise. I realize 1st cruise experience has nothing to compare to but after 12 I now do!

Very enjoyable cruise by LoisM

We loved our cruise on the Legend. Thr room and location of it were great. The perks of being a Platinum cruiser were the best. Only drawback was the food. Both the steaks and 2 nights of prime rib the meat was tough. First time in my life I have been served a medium rare tough filet mignon!

We loved it all from the food, the service, the shore excursions. No complaints whatsoever. We could ask for nothing more and when my wheelchair was "Borrowed" by a lady who used it to sit in while she did laundry, it was quickly found and returned by our steward. Suggestion: Put a chair in the laundry.

The SUITE life by SuzetteB

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had one of the back corner Vista Suites with the 240 sq ft deck and it was absolutely lovely!! We really enjoyed being able to sunbathe in our private area and we spent a lot of time on our balcony. There were a few other things we did this cruise (our seventh) that made the entire vacation even better: we used Bon Voyage to order liquor in our room so we could make our own simple mixed drinks, we went on the behind the fun tour to learn more about the inner workings of the ship and crew, we did the Chef de Cuisine's dinner and we packed an absolute minimum of clothes to get us through. All in all, we had a great time.

Carnival Legend by GaSuKe

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cruise was wonderful.. The wait staff in the dining room was First Class all the way. My only complaints were - 1. the after dinner show. Early dining should have a show after dinner. The first night, the show was at 9 pm. The second night, no show. The third night was not a show and was at 11 pm., etc................there were only two good shows during the whole trip. Not good. 2. The female bartender at the main lounge was indifferent and my sister waited about 15 minutes before she walked away to another lounge......twice!......aside from those items, the trip was great!

Our 45th anniversary Cruise. by JeffMikres

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I gave it a 3. First of all, all the staff were great. Our cabin steward was a young lady, and very committed. We were told our balcony was slightly obstructed. It was more than slightly obscured. I asked for a cabin higher up but they said they had none. The shows were 50/50. 50% good and the other half not. Too many tee backs for a family friendly show. The magic show was dark and evil. The food was 3-4 stars. We have been on other cruises with much better food. The decor of the ship was fabulous. Things to do on the ship were meager. Took a tour at Cozumel that was great. The TV was small and had minimal things to watch. The movie channel charged 12.00 to watch a movie I could have gotten from red Box for a buck. I would say that most cruises we have been on were better. The last cruise we were on was on Princess. We were on deck 9 and payed about the same money but went all the way south to Aruba.
